Change Car Battery versus Car computer :(
hi all,
I have a 04 coupe and I wonder if I do replace my car battery, would my computer goes wack?? Just recently paid couple hundred dollars to reprogramed my car computer since the odometer needle went crazy-due to throttle body. Please let me know your feedback, thanks guys,
pd

I called my local dealer yesterday. FOr 04' model, it's so right to take out the battery without interrupt of the car computer thing. But for 05/06' model, you would have to becareful because it has some sort of computer sensor, so better to let the dealer to handle it. My brother did some research that our G car battery would last about 2-3 years before it becomes a goner due to some BOSE radio system. I would ask my dealer again today if they have the replacement program or prorate my current battery (battery replacement is covered within that basic warranty 0-60K miles) only.

2006 here...
I've disconnected my battery before and left disconnected for hours (reset ecu method) and had no ecu problems.
This is factory oem tune though.
Valid question about a performance reflash and do you loose those mappings. Always wondered about that.
Dealer says should be careful and they should do it...lol
I rather hear what your reprogram/reflash ppl say.
Thanx
