My engine is still leaking engine oil and I believe that it is still consuming engine oil, as well. The oil catch bottle is filling up at a quicker rate than prior to the install of the new engine.
Argh!! What's your next course of action, Andy?

I bring the car back to the dealership. Inform them of the unresolved engine oil leak, advise them of my suspicion to continued oil consumption . . . And then, my young friend, I finally file a formal complaint with the BBB. Now, at this point in the game, I have plenty of data/info for the BBB.

Oh, the formal OC TSB, which Nissan recently released, will serve me quite well, at this juncture.

Unfortunately . . . That is why I have been so quite about my replacement engine up to now. Until it happens to you, and I hope that no one else has to go through this, it leaves one with a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach. It's almost been some 3 years and the car has never really been mine.

Lots are going lemon law being they're on their third replacement and still have OC issues.

I have ~100mi to go for dealer to pull stick and compare to TSB chart.
I checked this AM and I'm 8-9mm down with 890mi on oil. That qualifys me.
John,

Sounds like you will be receiving a new engine. I really really really hope that the engine you receive resolves the OC issue. My fingers are crossed for you. Hopefully, you will be the other half, whom gets the good engine.

The new engines and the TSB is useless if the engines don't do squat.

Andy its funny I was just about to PM you and ask if you noticed any oil consumption. I have put about 1800 miles on the new engine, I checked it yesterday before a drive to Vallejo and noticed that I was 13 hash marks low on the dip stick. I have not changed the oil yet, I hoping to have the dealer measure before the first oil change.

The engine was broken in per Infiniti which was stay below 4K and vary the speed on the freeway.

Andy did you notice consumption during the break in? I would think some break in is normal but 13 hash makrs seems a bit much.

I have some 4000 miles since the engine swap. I had Nissan change the engine at 1500 miles. Sine then, I have dumped another 2 quarts of oil into the engine. Keep in mind, there is a oil leak, as well . . . But not 2 quarts worth. In any event, I will put it back on Infiniti and let them figure it out.

Thanks, John . . . Yeah, I have been lurking over at My350Z and I have seen your involvement over there. Unfortunately, I have seen the negative reports from owners, also.

LOL . . . Oh well, what are we going to do? The good news is that Spring is quickly approaching and with it, the good weather for twisty runs. Get ready for Santa Cruz IV.

Looking at the TSB its about 17mm low. I will be calling my service advisor tomorrow. I'm sure they will blame it on the break in.

Perhaps, but down the road . . . We still have the formal TSB at our sides, for whatever that is worth. Keep an eye on things. Hopefully, you have one of the good engines, once its broken in a bit more.

Well the break in is complete, I'm going to make an appointment to have Infiniti change the oil this week. Once the oil is changed I will moniter once a week.

I haven't kept up over at my350z, but . . . What on God's green earth is Nissan going to do, if a large number of these V2s fail to resolve the OC issue?

I contacted my service advisor this morning and left a message asking him to call me about this issue. I will see if I can gain any information from him.

Thanks for the info, John. Uggggggg! Here we go again!

Hehehe . . . It's leaking, that's all any one knows. They have no clue where it's leaking from. Now, I am turning things up a notch. We'll see what transpires. I would hate to have the need to have another engine installed. Oh well . . .

Andy, let me know if I can be of any assistance in this process. As you know, I've been down this road before...
