I do remember the teg that was such a clean car, is it still around do you know?

John great info on the TSB, I would assume they changed it because the oil level is being checked only as soon as 1,000 miles by dealers.

The short version . . . Your engine consumes large quantities of engine oil. Gone unmonitored, your engine will go "BOOM!"

btw MG35Coupe did u ever get your shifter fixed? when they replaced my tranny/clutch i had a similar problem where 5th gear wasnt top right, it was more of a top right, half inch to the left, then up. ended up the gear box or something was crooked they fixed it no questions asked now its good as new .
Hey sorry frog, been away from the forum for a bit, but to answer your question, no I haven't had the time yet due to work. I am glad it's a simple adjustment as it's throwing me off when I shift quickly (no pun intended), I get "stuck" right in that area you mentioned, lol.

It is always good to check your oil at least once a week. Just like you would check your tire pressure or coolants. It is always better if you catch things earlier than later.

But to answer your question, since you do not have the Rev Up engine, you are at less risk for the OC issue, however, there have been some cases on non Rev Up engines.

Andy, you may or may not appreciate this.
A friend of mine just got his V2 last week, did a break-in method I know on it and after ~300mi, it started to leak oil.
They found the oil filter housing on block to be bad and filter wouldn't seal correctly against it.
Yours still not leaking anymore? Hopefully not.
Geez, that must have drove your friend absolutely nuts. I feel his/her pain. It's good to hear that the leak cause/source was identified. I hope it is going to be a quick fix.

No, my car is no longer leaking oil. It has been some 400 miles since the oil leak was fixed and I had the oil changed. Tomorrow will be a telling day.

Hey, you and Pam have a great vacation, bro.

Andy good luck with your oil change. I'm about 400 miles from my first 1000 mile check. I have spoken to Norman Taylor also. After my first check, will determine my next course of action.

Alan, I am about some 500 miles to the 1000 mile mark. Thus far, the jury is out until I can put more miles in on this last oil change. I have been monitoring the oil level very closely, needless to say.

Good luck to you with your process.

If you are saying you are 3/4 full between the marks on the dipstick, you should be good. Alot of people with OC issues do not even get readings on the dipstick.
