Back to the point, Cattleman's in Newark is one of the oldest restaurants in Newark, as stated by Leon and I (just showing our age here!)

steaks are pretty good for the price. it's not harris or anything like that. check out the website. i want to make sure everyone's committed before i book the banquet room. we have till this friday. thank you all.

^ +1. They have a pretty good selection. If you havent heard of them, they are a NORTHERN CALI chain...there is another one in Livermore off Airport Blvd. Try the BEANS- My Fav! Again, they have a bar with TV's and junk.

i don't know about nationwide. all their locations except one is in california.

No, but I remember the penny candy at the store next to the grocery there.
We used to go to a restaurant in Irvington right at the main lights. We went so much, we knew every family member by name.
