Exhaust alone shouldn't have sent you the the referee. Whatever you do from the cats back is your business. Is there something else under the hood that required a CARB # that doesn't have one?

Did they get rid of the law about single exhausts being made into dual exhausts? There used to be a section that says it is illegal to turn a single exhaust or muffler into two... I can't find it anywhere now. The only way the Stillen sedan true dual stayed legal was because of the x pipe and single muffler.

he should be good with the z tube, however the universal intake may give you trouble.

OK... let me correct myself...

Every non-OEM mod before the cats need a CARB number. The Z-tube is an OEM part...

Ya know what? I don't see why not, as long as the motor is newer than the car

guys if the cop wants to be a di** they can still give you a ticket for a modified exhuast or to high(what they judge by there ears) of db's. I wish chippies where more like you chippie but down here in so cal they love to give tickets on that...

if a cop sees you with an exhuast that still under the db's they still gonna give you a ticket cause not everyone goes to a referee to get a cart showing it under the loudest db allowed(i dont think theres one of these locally anyhow)...so most people end up just swapping oem stuff and get the ticket signed off

This is the section we use to send people to the referee. The (b) section that is.

27156. (a) No person shall operate or leave standing upon any
highway any motor vehicle which is a gross polluter, as defined in
Section 39032.5 of the Health and Safety Code.
(b) No person shall operate or leave standing upon any highway any
motor vehicle which is required to be equipped with a motor vehicle
pollution control device under Part 5 (commencing with Section 43000)
of Division 26 of the Health and Safety Code or any other certified
motor vehicle pollution control device required by any other state
law or any rule or regulation adopted pursuant to that law, or
required to be equipped with a motor vehicle pollution control device
pursuant to the National Emission Standards Act (42 U.S.C. Secs.
1857f-1 to 1857f-7, inclusive) and the standards and regulations
adopted pursuant to that federal act, unless the motor vehicle is
equipped with the required motor vehicle pollution control device
which is correctly installed and in operating condition. No person
shall disconnect, modify, or alter any such required device
.
