I need to get a new muffler welded in place, and I'm debating between two places. Boris referred me to Golden Auto Muffler in the city and one of my friends referred me to Johnny Franklin's Muffler Shop in San Rafael.

Has anyone heard of either of these places (especially Johnny Franklin's) and can you please give me a yea or nay on whether I should go to either one?

Thanks!

thanks for the info Kris. any idea how much it'd cost for them to weld a new muffler in place? Boris quoted me ~$75-$125 but my friend says Franklin's will do it for $30.

+1 on Golden Auto. I have never used them personally but 4 of my co-workers have and so have many of my customers. All have been happy with quality of work and reasonable price.

Do you really want to drive to San Rafael when you can get the same thing done so much closer to home?

I don't have problem driving to San Rafael if the work is that phenomenal - which my friend swears it is. Supposedly all that shop does all day is weld & bend exhausts.

what other brand makes just mufflers to weld on? fyi welding on a muffler doesnt need a phenomenal job, just a weld that holds with no leaks
