Judging by the responses after my previous post, I'm guessing not.

I'm starting to rethink this whole Santa Cruz meet thing. I don't have anything major on my car, but I would be so pissed if I got a fix it ticket from some **** LEO for my light 35% tint on my front windows. I really like my tint and don't want to go through the hassle of removing it.
They can and just might. Last year I drove on the 84 on my honeymoon trip and got pulled just before La Honda despite having my front windows halfway down and they had 50% tint on them. This was in the very shady (as in dense forest coverage) section right before La Honda. It kinda ruined that part of the drive. I just ended up paying the fine later.

Mercury News, Santa Clara.
March 30, police passed out fliers on trespassing laws, made more than 140 car stops and cited more than 75 drivers at a recurrent gathering of about 500 car and racing enthusiasts.

Something about that question just doesn't sound right to me... Just because there are *ssholes on the force doesn't mean they all are... and having him here on the forums with us is definitely not a bad thing, especially in that thread. Would you want to hear the laws from someone who thinks they know the law or from an officer of the law? And plus, just because he has a badge does not make it his fault when someone gets a ticket for tint, no front plate, etc...
