As suck as it might be, but has anyone change their driving style or habits? do you driving less or slow down a bit or even car pooling?

Funny that you ask that now, Shane. Driving into the city, I now use 6th gear on the freeways. We haven't cut down on our driving . . . But, I have a strong sense that we will be rethinking our driving habit very soon . . . Especially, driving around in the SUV with only 2 people aboard.

I haven't changed my driving habits.

However, I can't wait for this knee injury to get better so I can get on my bicycle again. It's not even about saving gas, but rather, it's a more enjoyable mode of transportation to work.

i don't drive enough to really have an issue with gas prices. i've had my car for 31 months, and am just crossing 23k on the odometer. some weeks i can feel it if i have to do 300-400 miles but really, no big difference here.

even mid-high end drivers will do 18k miles/yr, at 25mpg, that's 720 gallons of gas. even bump it up to 1000 gallons of gas given the g35's fun factor driving WOT and city driving. the increase in gas isn't really that bad. $1k - 1.5k over the course of a year? it sucks but it shouldn't be such a big deal for ppl who can afford a G.

my main complaints are with the rising price of everything else that is oil dependent (namely shipping costs of food that increase grocery cost... $8 for 1 gallon of organic milk!?)

I paid $4.75/gl last night. I drive my G a lot for work purposes, so my gas bill last month was $621.39. 2 more months and I will be done with my job assignment, so my gas bill should go down drastically. So my gas bill for total of 4 months has been over $$1800.

That's my main issue. I can afford to drive the cars no problem, but with the cost of gas increasing, everything else is increasing as well except people's pay.

I agree with you man. we are in a recession, so we just gotta pray that it doesn't get any worse and we all have a job still.

Whoever guessed $5 by the 4th of July is definately on the right track. I paid $4.89 a few days ago.

I changed my driving habit, I'm driving much, much less, walking a lot more to places that are within a mile or two (exercise) and I'm taking the bus 3 times a week to work. It costs me $30 a month for a bus pass, and I'll be saving approximately $450 a month from saving gas, wear and tear of my car and auto insurance. The time difference is only 15 mins and I use that time to either catch up on my email or read the books I borrow from the library. It's un-glamorous and unpopular, but other big cities have been drving less such as Chicago, New York, Seattle.

But I still see people drive like idiotic maniacs. Just yesterday when I had to go to work, took 101 and saw two idiots racing...
