Okay, everyone. Calm down. You guys are on the same side - you would rather not have a requirement for a front plate. Neither would I. If that petition came my way, I would not hesitate to sign it, but that fact remains that until the law changes about having a front plate, everyone without them is subject to getting a ticket. I don't have one because I dislike the look of not having one on. This is my choice and I am willing to pay the fee to not drive with one on. I don't do it to avoid traffic lights or try to manipulate the law in any way, just simply don't like the look.

Sexy, I feel you 100% but no need to get into an argument with Cru and Chippie. They're good guys and know what they're talking about.

I am not saying they are not good guys or don't know what they are talking about, I just think they should do some research and bring saome facts to the table like I did. I got a lot of bs infraction tickets because I dislike the look of front plates as well, but oh well I guess we gotta keep paying those $10 fines huh?

I live in Maryland and have VA plates. For the past 6 years I've had my VA plates cause those laws for Maryland plate holders to display your plates don't apply to me since I don't display my plates in the front. I also have dark tint that in VA would get me a ticket but guess what I don't live in VA anymore. Yes, I still visit family back in VA and for that short period of time of being in town I've never received a ticket because of what I just said (Short period of time). Someone on this site claims that most states can give out of state plates a ticket for there state rules. (WRONG) Every state doesn't share the same laws. My classmate at Va Tech a couple of years ago had Florida tags on his Acura, and had 5% tint. (VA cops never pulled him) and if anybody knows VA, there cops are the worst for pulling random people over and citing you for BS stuff.(Commonwealth State Baby) I have been pulled twice in Maryland for speeding and never did I get a ticket for tint or failure to display plates in the front of my car. I love my VA plates. My sister also has VA plates on her car and has been living in Cali for 5 years. LMAO
Bottom line if you can get the hook up on out of state plates, do it! Yes it is not by law to do it but damn, your breaking it anyway by having limo tint and no plates.

As far as Edmunds goes, obviously they have never put a LIDAR gun in their hand. Take it from someone who has, me. How do I aim for the front plate on a motorcycle? Hmmm...that would be a little tough since they don't have one. Half the cars on the road don't have one either. So how does our each officer on our speed team come in with 20-25 speeding tickets in about 6 hours worth of work? LIDAR doesn't need the front plate. Now you're saying to yourself, "What a great arguement against having a front plate." Again, obviously Edmunds has never investigated a hit and run collision where the front plate fell off the suspect vehicle or was imprinted on the rear bumper of the vehicle it hit. I have. How many unlincensed drivers have I caught just because they don't have a front plate? Drunks? Drugs? Restraining order violations? Warrants? Suspsended drivers? Modified emmisions equipment? How many cars have I passed where the front plate doesn't match the rear plate? Oops, stolen car. Crooks aren't smart. I know you don't like the law regarding requiring front plates, but it is what it is. I've said many times, don't be mad at the cops regarding the law, be mad at the legislatures. If you don't like it, quit whinning and get off your azz. Start a petition, take it to your local congressman. And it's not a $25 dollar fine for a correctable violation. It's 10$, so I hope you don't really think it a serious source of revenue for the city in which the violation occurred. Don't get me wrong. Stopping cars with no front plate is not at the top of my to do list. I would much rather be stopping speeders, people not wearing seatbelts, registration (that's where my paycheck comes from), etc...My ultimate goal is to reduce the mileage death rate, which the goal is 1.15 deaths per 1 million miles of road driven. Drive safely.

Jesus people don't shoot the messanger here!! I was relying info. that I found on the web and what i was told. Again, I really doubt that there is no quotas when I see more chp officers on the streets from 15-30th of the month than any other day, but I am not gonna argue w/ no one cuz everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There are petitions out there about these laws and not sure if they are going to change anything.

Yeah, i have three friends on the force (in two different cities) and they assure me there is no quota. I believe them 100%.

It went from "you should do research and bring facts to the table like I did" to "don't shoot the messenger, I was just repeating what I heard and read on the web". Like chippie and I both said, the police don't make the laws, they only enforce them. And like we both said THERE ARE NO QUOTAS. Think about that before you go spouting off about "b*tch a$$ cops".

How does he know you wear thongs, Cru?

Was in he an escapee from the basement? Is that why I sense so much hostility?
