You guys are hilarious! I am in the process of being hired, going through the 55 page background and then comes the fun part of being evaluated by a phsycologist . But yeah I am hella excited though and I know its a long process, but man the benefits and the great work environment are well worth it. Are you a cop as well skeleton_cru?

I've been a Correctional Officer for San Mateo County for eight years and a Jail Training Officer for six of those years. A word of advice, be careful what you type on the internet. Your background investigator may raise an eyebrow to an applicant calling police officers "b*tch a$$ cops".

You never said what county you applied for.

I applied for placer county, santa clara, alameda, and san bernardino. How do you like the job? I hate the fact that the whle state is on this freeze, so the process is taking twice as long. Are you an adult or youth correctional officer? Thanks for the advise.

Sexyg35, as a little pre-training exercise and a possible interview scenario....You are working lower booking one afternoon and a CHP officer brings his 10-15 party in. On the booking sheet appears the charge of 5200(a) VC per 40302(b) VC. What are you going to do? Cru, don't help him out with this one either. Ya, ya, I know only chippies do this, too. But it's the proper charge!

Lol! You are funny buddy I am at work now, so I will have to do some research on this and will get back to you shortly. I know that 5200 (a) is a violation for no front plate and the other one 40302 (b) is when you refuse to sign the ticket and you go to jail. I know this is punishable up to a $1000 in fine and up to 6 months in jail, but again i have to find out the rest. This is a good pre-training exercise and I know you are trying to bust my chops.

Great job! It's an ethics question. The ability to separate personal beliefs and the law. You will face this everyday on the job. Welcome to the dark side buddy!
