Front plate and tints?

So I grew up in Nor Cal and I'm looking to move back there when I can find a job. My car currently has no front plate, and 10% tints all around except windshield.

If I get stopped and get a ticket for either the tints or the plate what kind of penalty can I expect? Which is more inclined to get me a ticket anways? I'm hoping it would just be a fine and I wouldn't actually have to take the tints off the windows as this would suck ***.

both can get you a fix it ticket. About $10 in CA and you have to correct it and get it signed off. Unless you know someone who can sign off the tint then you are going to have to take it off and get it signed off. As for the no front plate, you put it on get it signed off and then take it off.

I wonder of there is a limit to the # of times you can get pulled over in CA with no front plate. Has anyone ever gotten a fixit ticket for no front plate numerous times. For ex, do they track it if you get the fixit ticket, put the plate back on, get it okayed and then remove it again.

I myself am running 20% all around and no front plate and I have only been pulled over once for tint.

However, I have numerous friends that have been pulled over multiple times. My friend has been pulled over 6 times for no front plate and 3 times for tint (20%).

I have heard that now, after X amount of times, the fine is not correctable and is $100. I think it is 3 times.

Also, if meter maids cite you, it is $100. My dad's friend just got a $100 no front plate ticket.

At the end of the day, I believe it is still up to the officer if he wants to make your fine correctable or not.

Yup... that and tint.

Sometimes you will see a parking division officer drive around 280 Metro Center in Colma looking for cars with no front plates.
