Huge international R/C Race in Roseville, CA
If anyone has ever been interested in racing R/C cars, you owe it to yourself to stop by Speedworld Raceway in Roseville sometime this weekend to see what world class competition looks like up close. After many years in SoCal, The Reedy Race of Champions is now being hosted by our own local track. The track was just recently resurfaced and the entire facility has been remodeled to accomodate this large event with over 150 drivers.

Speedworld Raceway
90 Corporation Yard Road
Roseville, California 95678
It is located at the Placer county fairgrounds next to the Roseville Police Dept and behind the full scale Nascar track.
The top factory teams will be there including drivers from all over Europe, Australia, Taiwan and Japan. There are open and spec classes for the amateurs but the real excitement will be in the invitational class where 30 of the best drivers in the world will go head to head in 8 rounds over two days of racing. 13 time world champion Masami Hirosaka from Japan is making a rare appearance in the US. He has been racing for over 20 years and has won just about every title in existance. Here's a pic of him and some of his cars/tropies:

The cars are 1/10 scale electric onroad cars and the races are for 5 mins each. There will be 3 rounds of qualiying on Saturday and 1 round of qualifying and the mains on Sunday. Doors open at 8:30 AM and go until about 6pm, there is no charge to the public and there are bleacher seats for spectators.
If I can figure out how to embed videos, I'll link some some here for you to get an idea of what to expect.
Be sure to click on WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY on the above video, it really makes a difference.
