anyone had tranny replaced at frontier infiniti?

my 6-spd transmission is super notchy and is clunking in 2nd gear. I've had it grind on me a few times. Has anyone brought there car in to stevens creek for tranny problems? If so how did it go? I've brought it in before for another TSB and had them check the tranny while they were at it. They said that it was fine and that it wasn't anything different than the other 6-speed G's. I plan to bring it in again to have it checked out. any suggestions?

ive had my tranny and clutch replaced there (under warranty), and only problem i had is when they installed it the shifter was out of allign like the boot wasn't set right so i couldnt put it in 5th easy, but they fixed it the day after. the best bet with them is figure out how to make it have problems that your encountering if u cant then its hard they are thickheaded there sometimes and wont care i had to bring my car in like 3x for a noise no one could hear... then they finally heard it was something loose in the tranny...

Just to be safe. They may put blame on the aftermarket fluid.

I had amsoil fluid in mine.. had my transmission changed. Mine was changed for a different reason. I did state it was notchy (they couldn't replicate)but they warrantied it because it was make a howling/humming noise when the car is driven in the morning while warming up. The noise varies with speed going from 20-40mph.

look here

sadly albert rios isn't there anymore.. the other service advisors suck. not aftermarket friendly like albert.

thanks for the info guys! but its weird, i drove it to work this morning and it 2nd gear wasnt really notchy on every shift. Maybe shifting at different rpms will make it notchy? But I'm goin to change the fluid again and see if it gets better. If not i'll slap the stock shift **** back on and bring it in.

Driving experience.... 6MT > 5AT. Although there are times I wish I had an AT while driving in SF, I don't think I would ever go to a 5AT. Don't like the AT G35's come with.
