Tire Blew Out 2 days in a row.Ugh
Talk about bad luck.
I was driving to work on Friday from 280 merging to 92 and my slip light came on...then I see smoke and pulled off the road...My right rear tire tore up in 1/2...!!!
I just had them put on in April...Finally was able to have AAA put the spare on and drove it to wheel works in San Mateo....They had a tire in stock...I have 19" Volk GT-C's and it was not cheap...I ended up getting the warranty, and allighnment check came out to $574.04....
Next morning I'm at my buddy's house in Alameda heading out to San Lorenzo for some golf...He was driving and again...."TIRE BLEW OUT AGAIN" same side right rear...luckily there's a wheel works in dublin "next to hooters"...
They didn't have the tire in stock so now I'm waiting to hear from them on Monday...They need to find out what caused the tire to blow out a second time.
What my buddy noticed was after the allignment was done, the streering wheel was pulling to the right...I have the $49.99 tire replacement certificate from Wheel Works...so luckily I don't have to pay for another tire....
San Mateo Wheel Works "Caser" told me the rim was fine and not damaged...
When I told him it blew out again...he said well maybe your rim is bad and that there's a slow leak...? I'm like then why'd you install the tire if the rim is bad....you said it was ok....then he gives me some excuse my car is too low and that none of his guys can go under the car...i'm like what the f...?
Anyways, the Dublin store "Mark" said he'll find out what happened...and will take care of it...and that I'm covered under the "tire replacement certificate"...
On that note: "Caesar" claims he left my "Allen Wrench" in the trunk...Couldn't find it anywhere....
I"m very UPSET...2 days in a row...
On top of that, just had to replace the battery and clutch couple weeks ago...i have 90 k on my G now..it's an 04....
Thoughts...
Anyone have a set of 18's I can borrow or buy...? Sold my old set couple years ago...UGHHHH....
Frustrated...

i know exactly how u feel. I was driving my G and my rear left tire blew.. so i had to throw the spare and drive 50 miles home going 45 mph... came home, swapped to my bmw to go out with some friends. 10 miles down the 101 south and the same tire blew on my bmw.. on the SAME day! was i pissed off. total cost to replace both was about 700 bucks...

Sorry to hear about all the BS you're going through. Having the tires on the same rim blow out on consecutive days is no coincidence. I guess it could be problems with the rim or maybe your tire is rubbing some where, a problem I have that problem on my lowered Honda.
If I take hard turns in my Honda the inside of the tire rubs against the wheel well causing the tire to fail after a period of time. I can't see that happening to you in just a day though. It all depends on how your tries are failing. Look at that, the rim and the wheel well and see if you can figure it out.
Good luck. Hope it all works out for you.

: UPDATE
:Wheel works called me yestererday.
What they said was the "Allilgnment" was never done.
Still no "Allen Key" in the trunk and San Mateo shop says they don't have it.
The tech looked at the rim other than curb rashes, doesn't see anything wrong with it.
He took it out on a 5 mile test-drive and said it's fine now.
I asked them to drive it for a few miles to make sure.
Can't afford being stuck on the road for flat tires.
On that note, after having replaced the clutch, the battery, and 2 tires in 2 weeks...I'm really fed up with "COST OF OWNERSHIP" expenses on the G.
I still have insurance and car payment so all in all about $2500.00 the last month or so...plus gas.
I'm working out a deal rignt now on a 2004 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition white/black..fully loaded non-navi for only $17500.00.
The G's been fun but too much of a headache and a financial burden.
I'll let everyone know if the deal goes through on the 4Runner...Always wanted a 4x4 and can't see a better time to do it than now...
Thanks for everyone's help....!!!

so you went through 3 tires total? 2 completely blowing and the third not filling up with air? can't you force them to replace your wheel or take it to another shop to get another opinion on your wheel being in "good condition"
