Thumbs down *Rant* 2 EK HB's

So coming home from work tonight, there were 2 EK Hatchbacks in front of me. They go at the light, and are driving a little under the speed limit and sort of pacing each other. So I cut out to the fast lane (from the first lane) in a normal fashion, signaling properly, not trying to instigate a race or anything. As I start to pick up a little speed (slowly, not flooring it) the one in the middle lane speeds up and gives me that "I gotta stay ahead of you" feel. I didn't bother to look over, because I don't want the guy to think I'm trying to race him or something. I just wanted to get home. So at the stop light, he's kind of waiting for my reaction to see if I was going to punch it. When I don't punch it, he accelerates slowly, but "must stay in front of me." I accelerate a little bit because I wanted to get in the slow lane, but he accelerates. He does the same at the next stop light, so after I take off (normally) I accelerate a little past speed limit (maybe 50 or 55) and this guy speeds up too. Then I'm like, "WTF?" When I was behind those two, they were happy going about 5 under the speed limit, but once someone wants to pass them, since they were legitamately going slow, they speed up? Honestly, I wanted to punch it, but realized it's not worth the potential ticket(s) or worse. So yeah, big thumbs down to those two. *end of rant*

I don't even know how to respond right now. I don't want to sink into a level of where those two are. Like I always like to say, "Common courtesy isn't that common anymore..." If you're driving hella slow and someone wants to pass you... it's your fault for driving slow. Let them pass. BAH... Forget it...

That sucks, Calvin. Sounds like the other driver was trying to bait you into racing him. If not that, he was clearly trying to annoy you.

Kudos to you for keeping your cool and not being goated into doing something dangerous that could jeopordize the the safety of you & others.

that's the biggest problem Rob... I don't know how I kept my cool cuz I'm usually an idiot on the road. Maybe I was just too tired to give a **** that night. But yeah... this situation got me thinking... Evan knows what I'm thinking...

I would've done this, get into the fast lane, slowly sneak up to his rear panel, once you're in his blind spot, gas it, and once you're ahead of him, properly turn into the lane and slow down to the speed limit. Or you can be like me and drive only late at night.

This happened shorta late... about 10:30, as I work Swing Shift. Getting in his blind spot and passing him... I'm suprised that I didn't do that. I guess I just didn't care to do anything like that on that night. I used to come home anywhere from 12:30-4AM because the company I work for had hella overtime, but that's a thing of the past.

"HK" in HKStyle = Hong Kong... both of my parents lived there for a while before coming to the US.
