I dont get it?

1. The officer gave you a ticket for doing something wrong
2. He didn't give you a ticket for non-updated lic plate sticker or no front plate.

Why do you hate cops?

+1...

I don't need to ask. I'm not the one doubting him not looking first before changing lanes lol.

And yes, they can crush the G and pay for a new car... it's not that great of a car...
lol...situations can change real quick out there. Sometimes you have plenty of time to see and get out of those conditions well in advance, sometimes you can't and need to think quick. Can think of many other scenarios, but there's no point. Sorry you think the G not that great of car to avoid being rear-ended if safely possible. My neck and back would be regardless what I'm driving.

No you're the one assuming he did. The only thing I doubted was you.

i cant believe you guys would want him to get nailed at highways speed in the back by an suv. do you guys know how much trama that could cause to him? why is that a better choice than pulling out to avoid it if he checked lanes?

Either way, my point is, with true defensive driving, you're always watching your surroundings, avoiding spots that can be trouble. While the op avoided an accident, he wasn't driving defensively that well...

And if it was stop and go traffic where you're truly stuck in a lane, slowly creeping down the road, the collission wouldn't have been that bad... somewhere between 5-15mph...

I agree with chippie...You could have distance yourself from the other car and brake sooner and lightly so the car behind you has time to react...Lesson learned...

Agree 100000% with that statement.

We really don't know the actual 360 degree situation the OP's surroundings or what it was prior to it becoming stupid real quick. This discussion between you and I is now based on what-if. Senseless and OT.

I felt the OP reacted correctly and defensively at fwy speeds, some of you do not. Opinions are opinions. Lets carry on with the original topic at hand shall we

My point is not based on any what-ifs... there was an idiot behind him tailgating him, he didn't want to get hit bad enough, and he did absolutely nothing before any incident occurred. Great defensive driving

Brakes your lucky

my 2 cents,
Rush hour traffic.. you cant allow a safe distance between cars because you will have 200 cars behind you so pissed off they would probably go around you and cut you off anyway. I do feel your wrong for harping on the H.P. Weather or not he saw the situation unfold will never be known. However you escaped having your G smashed by a make-up applying woman in an SUV.
Although you would not have been at fault your G would have never been the same. Plead your case to the judge, pay your fine and flip that bit#$ off if you ever see her in traffic again.
The next time you wash your baby look at the rear end and be happy it is in one piece!
Rob

You know damn well you won't ignore me. You're too busy obsessing over some perceived slight that happened years ago. Grow up already.
