twenty twenties

hi folks! as many of you know, im back to work so i wont be whoring much ... (for those of you who don't know, im a high school counselor)

at any rate, those of you who do know me, know how much i care to help my students. this being said, i took on the hefty task of choosing to take a bus load of upperclassmen to visit uc santa barbara and cal poly. it's finally been approved by the board, and now here comes the challenge... RAISING MONEY.

it's a two day field trip, with about 40 students, and 4 chaperones. the estimated cost is $200/student, which includes all lodging, transportation and meals. (the breakdown is: $85 bus, $50 hotel, $45 food, $20 tax, tip, etc.)

many of my students have the grades, but cannot afford this. they are eager to visit colleges out of the area... but their parents do not have the means to take them on such trips. i am scrambling with as many ideas as possible to fundraise. (i should be sleeping, but my mind is racing, so i thought i'd post this up and see if it would work...) there are many fundraising companies out there, but the amount you have to give them back is high, then all you have left is often minimal. so obviously, a straight cash donation is most effective.

i'd like to challenge NCG to have at least 20 people donate $20.00 towards my cause. that would be $400, which would help... shoot, anything helps. selling beef jerky sticks can only go so far. if you're interested, leave me a msg here, or PM me. thanks for considering it, you're awesome.

ps: if you're local, i'll make you a batch of muffins or cupcakes in exchange for your $$$, haha! (hey... at least you'll get something out of it.)

I'm always willing to help a good cause. Put me down for $20. When do you need it by? May be a good excuse to get together for a mini meet and hand you the cash.

Sorry unfortunately being a college student I am dirty poor. But on a side note I do attend Cal Poly and have a bunch of friends at UCSB as well. Let me know if you have any questions about the school or such.

Shannon,

I'm good for $20.00. Please let me know how you would like to collect the money. If you you have a paypal account, I'll offset whatever my transaction fee may be.
