Seriously its not hard to get around, setup Squid on a linux box at your house and use that as your proxy. use port 8080 since most firewalls dont block it, or hell use port 80 if you can afford to use a proxy to your home connection for everything. If you need a squid proxy and dont have the means to set one up I can point you to the right place.

I can prolly tell you what they are looking at, just guessing they are probbaly looling at kbps transferred and time spent on any given IP/URL. Some sites have active links that will make your traffic look a lok heavier. Being in security I can help you beat the system, its not as hard as it seems.

Thank goodness I work from home without anyone looking over my shoulder. I have the internet up on my laptop pretty much all day while working on my desktop. I even carry it downstairs when I go to make dinner sometimes to look up recipes and stuff.

Good to hear nothing more serious happened, Rob!

I'm glad your employer was (a lot) more lenient than my last one.

poor Rob. That sucks. you going cold turkey? no access at lunch or anything? Is it still ok to drink while you work?

edit: does that mean you work IN probation and you're ON probation??

dont worry Rob, your not alone. Im in the same situation as you are. They try blocking me and warn me over and over again, but im always finding way to break back in, and putting myself in more trouble. I should slow my row and stop taking this for granted, or eles ill be living in my G.

I'm jealous of those who work from home or work in IT, and can use the internet as much as they want without the fear of getting in trouble.

Kris - I do need to find a job like yours.

Yep, cold turkey, Mike. It was quite sobering today. I was very much like someone going cold turkey from an addiction. I was grumpy, irritable and aggressive for most of the day. I even got nauseous at one point, too.

You're right, Phil. Which is why I have learned my lesson and won't be making that mistake again. Nevertheless, I'm gonna miss whoring during the work day.

Be careful, Johnny! The G's look great, but I doubt they're very comfortable to sleep in!
