I wasn't speaking as cop on the previous post. Yes it's illegal, but I've never said what my personal preference is. And no one on this board has ever seen my car, if you smell what I'm steppin' in?
I've seen it

how many have gotten in trouble because of no front plates? It just looks so much cleaner.

Any thoughts on what to do?
May sound a bit stuffy . . . But, why test the law and your luck? Why draw the unnecessary attention? To look good? There is a pay for looking good. If you are aware of the potential issues, which may lie ahead and are willing to pay the price . . . By all means . . . Test it.

I have the Stillen bracket.

If you don't want to get pulled over time and time again you'll put the plate on. As nice as a car looks without it it's not worth getting pulled over for. At a show (if I show again) I can always take it off so it's no big deal.

Plus, not once has a woman looked at my G and said, "I'd really like you more if your car didn't have a front plate on. What a shame."

Seriously, not worth getting pulled over for.

just a thought - what if everyone in california decided to not have the front plate on? would LE have the resources to ticket every car on the road or would they then turn the other way and have to focus on other things. would lawmakers be forced into saying that this particular law isn't that necessary? please correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't see much use for the front plate. it's not for when LE is chasing you - the rear plate is what is seen anyway. it's not for toll violations - a picture of the rear of the car is taken. it's not for red light cameras as i've seen people receive this in the mail with the rear license plate showing. It's not for radar guns to have something to bounce back the radar back to the gun - i would imagine a 3,000 lb car by itself would be enough to send the radar back. i know this isn't going to ever happen as long as the law is how it is. I'm not saying we shouldn't have front plate on - we should comply with the law as long as it is the law. i just think it should be changed. does every state of the front licence plate law?
i don't have the plate on my car and if i do get a ticket for it, it's nobody's fault by my own and i will pay the fine, not b*tch about it and move on.
sorry for rambling on - just a thought.

Instead of drilling holes into your bumper or spending $70 for an adapter from Stillen, do what I do and use the binder clip method. I haven't had any issues in regards to it coming loose and works like a charm. Link

+1. I've used it before and can testify that it works great.

They bumped it to $25 started 2009 (1st of the year)...

G35 Chippie, you say the department doesn't make any money from this offense, yet.... all the proceeds go to the state and who pays the CHP? the state, so that means you guys do make some money off of it. You personally or your department do not make money off of it in the form of a commission or split based on citation for that offense, but when it comes budgeting time you guys get some proceeds.-- although probably pennies per offense on something this minor. =\
