Sorry to hear and feel your pain.

I've been unemployed for over a year. Many interviews but not hired yet.

Great recession huh?

WHere have you been looking? There are quite a few websites that have job postings. Its very hard to even get a call back. My girl has been laid off for over 3 months now so I know how crappy it is. If worst comes to worst.. hit up In n out and cut them fries for $12/hr...

Temp agencys are very overwhelmed with people looking for work. There are people with master degrees looking to do filing jobs just to work. They are very over qualified but thats the way it is today...

Be very careful where and who you send your resume or applications to various online job boards, especially when they ask you to submit your SSN and other personal information, be sure they are legitimate companies.

I know we are looking to hire someone as a hybrid desktop support person. Basically handling 10-20 calls a day as well as office desktop support, helping out with AD administration (adding users/groups/etc), and other entry level Windows systems administration tasks. If you know VMWare, Sagent, or Citrix it helps. Basically we don't get enough calls to warrant a full time phone answerer, and we need help in other areas. I would call it an entry level IT analyst position.

To farsey and the rest here unemployed, good luck to you all the market is rough right now, but at least in IT it looks to be getting better.
