Dash Light issue. VDC and Slip

Ok so I figured I would ask here since everyone in the coupe section keeps saying is is brakes or tires. (And it is not brakes, that is why there is a brake light on the dash) The last few days I have just been cruising down the road and the SLIP and VDC Off lights come on together. Not doing anything crazy, they just turn on by themselves. I saw an issue with the 350z that said this was a light code for the camshaft position sensor.

Anyone else seen this issue, know a fix/how hard to fix. I would prefer not to get taken to the cleaners to have a dealer diagnose it if it is just a sensor to replace quickly.

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Nope, nothing at all. Car drives fine, does not pull to any side, no strange sounds. I checked all the fluids and everything is at least at the 1/2 to 3/4 full marks. All the brakes are better than 50% remaining. And I still have good tread on the tires so it is not a slipping issue. It's really strange. When I left a friends house tonight the brake light was on, but I was parked on his steep driveway, and I dot a TPMS light because it was only 59 degrees up here tonight!!

What were you doing exactly when the lights came on? Were you accelerating? Turning? Did you notice a loss of power when the lights came on?

The lights turn on randomly for me at times, and there's only one reason... not enough traction. Great tires can still slip. One of your wheels might have lost a bit of traction and that's just your car freaking out trying to control the situation.

Unfortunately I was just doing regular driving. Last night they were on when I started the car in a driveway. Not even moving. Yesterday they came on while I was cruising at about 50 on a straight section of road.

I tell you these freaking lights are annoying and came on at really strange times.

Top off your brake reservoir back to full mark line. Have heard the lights you refer to originally as, yes the crank pos sensor, but also the brake reservoir near 'low' line mark causing those lights too.
