I think we're out of luck..if I recall correctly..only 03-05 seats are the same, then there is a variation for the newer ones. But every interesting question; mine, finally got the same tear.

I went to the dealership and asked if they could fix it for me and they played dumb. I am waiting on a reply from a higher authority in the company. If you complain enough you eventually get what you want. The service people at my dealship just say no on ever has that problem when I know 3 people all with the same problem.

bump - just found this thread. I have an 04 model and had that issue since the day I got it (2006). Was told its 'wear and tear' issue but looks like it was a big BS and everyone is having same issue.
I still have extended warranty in play - do you think it's worth the effort to try again?
Thanks!

PS. The extended warranty doesn't cover upholstery, but seems like it would be covered in this case since it was caused by a mechanical defect.

Thread revival!
Just bought a 2006 Coupe with 26,500 miles. The seat is not yet ripped, but I can see the micro-tears starting.
Here for convenience is a link to the TSB cited earlier in the thread: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...49760088,d.eWE
Has anyone tried to make the frame modifications (filing down the offending plastic seat frame pieces) as a DIY? The TSB is not entirely clear to me, even when comparing with the FSM. Can you just remove the front and side seat cushion finishers and get the seat cushion off, or does it require the complete removal of the seat from the rails and then follow FSM seat cushion removal instructions in order to get to the plastic frame pieces? I'm kind of thinking that it is the latter, but thought I would ask here before I start in on major surgery.
Then of course I will have to source the clips to replace the side seat finisher....
