Ripped driver seat recall

Hello,

I have a rip in my driver seat on my 05 coupe, and I just saw the TSB saying that it can be replaced at the dealer. However, my car has 67K miles, which the warranty has expired. Do you guys think I can still get it replace? I've read some where on the forum that people actually got it fixed although the warranty is expired. Did any of you guys have your seat replace at any bay area dealership? Thanks!!

Here is the TSB.

^Is your warranty expired as well? If not, I think you can just take it into any dealership and have it replaced. It is a service bulletin, in which i think the dealer should fix it even if the warranty expired; however, most dealerships would come up with BS and not fix it. I want to know if any bay area people have it replaced after warranty expired.

that sounds interesting.

My warranty is long gone but I'll call them tomorrow to find out if they will replace or repair it.

dang...

oh dude, you know what i have the same problem. there's a rip in that area with the finisher...and i thought it was because my leather had cracked because it was dry. i never knew this was posted back in 07.

i took my car to the dealer and they said it was because i hadn't taken care of my leather. wow, so what can we do? go in a group and show them this? man i'd love to have mine fixed or filed down because i know in another year or so that area will be completely ripped apart.

I just called my dealer and was told that there are no recalls on the seat. Service bulletin was issued just so that dealers know how to fix it. If the car is under warranty then it will be fixed or replaced and if not then you gonna have to pay for it.

I have an '06 coupe that is still under warranty and also have the drivers seat tear. so last week I drove to the dealership and asked about replacing the seat cover . they took a picture of it and sent a request for approval to Infiniti Canada .
Yesterday I got a call from the service rep. saying that the request was approved.
Today they called to say the new cover was in and I need to make an appointment to have it installed.
So....anyone else that has this seat tear and is still under warranty...get your seat fixed.

I had my seat fixed via the TSB under warranty short of the warranty expiring a couple of years ago.

There is nothing lost by asking a dealer if they would be inclined to afford the fix after the warranty period.

My 05 warrany expired last month, I call the dealer about this and told them that I had this problem, but was unaware there was a TSB for it. They told me they didn't know of any TSB about torn leather seats. He said if I know of someone who had it done to get there VIN number so they can look it up in the system. I google the problem and found TSB ITB07-006 and call them back and gave it to them, he said he will call me back. Hopefully that is the right number and he finds it so I can get this repair. I am glad tha I am a member of forum where this type of info is posted, thanks G'ed for the post.

Thanks Andy, I am now waiting to see what the dealer will do, he seem to consider the idea of replacing it, even though my warranty expire last month. I am going to call them again tomorrow and hope they lean my way. Thanks
