Re: Official Golden Gate G35 Dyno Day Results

I took my car to Peninsula Infiniti today for the "Service Engine Soon" light that has been on since the morning of our Dyno Day. I was told that I had a bad catalytic converter and it is being replaced. I'm no mechanic but wouldn't that affect my dyno results? Maybe I could get my car re-dynoed after it has been repaired.

It is very likely that with any malfunction our ECUs run the safest program possible. Wasted cat is a malfunction imo.

hope you get everything straightened out. I know it really sucked for you at the dyno. If I were you I would dyno it again to make sure. Good luck

Re: Official Golden Gate G35 Dyno Day Results

The bad cat which triggered the SES light definitely played a part in your low dyno. Glad you got it replaced without a problem. If you go back and get your car redynoed tell us the results.

That calls for another dyno meet. I will have my y-pipe and mid section by than. That would be exciting.

Anyone down for it somewhere let's say early October? ModaCar is very cool about it and price is just no brainer.

Are they going to give us as sweet of a deal as ModaCar?
During intial planning every other shop was $40 more.

Re: Official Golden Gate G35 Dyno Day Results

Re: NEXT DYNO DAY -

Since we already have a good relationship with www.modacar.com - we should just stick with them.

We all had a great experience with them and as a result, I'm sure people would prefer to go back to them not just because of their price or location but because we are building a good relationship with them...They gave us a discount for our first event and it's our duty as a club, to refer business back to them..?

You've heard this saying before: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it."

FEEDBACK PEOPLE!

Have a great weekend!

Bob is correct. Aside from helping Modacar, we should go back there because that will allow people to compare numbers from the same dyno. Moving to a new shop, we wouldn't be able to see how the mods we've now done affect our cars because we'd need another 1st run to establish where our numbers should be again.

Re: Official Golden Gate G35 Dyno Day Results

I have good news for those of you who were interested in getting the Technosquare ECU reflash. I went to the SoCal dyno day today in Torrance and had ZERO problems with detonation. Temperature is in the low 80s here and I don't think it was much hotter in Livermore so that shouldn't be a huge factor in the detonation.

My conclusions:
1) Maybe the Chevron gas I had in the tank at our dyno day was bad
2) Technosquare has said that the DynoJet does not load the engine properly (DynoJet gives too little load). Timing does retard as load increases. I had no problems with the DynaPack here, so this could be a problem as well.

I'm running 76's 91 octane gas now, and there were no problems at all.

On another note, Casey did tell me that Modacar's dyno is usually lower than the other DynoJets. This makes sense to me since down here I got a 269.0hp on the DynaPack. The tech at the shop today said usually you only see a 10-12hp increase in numbers over a DynoJet. 21hp increase - 12hp usual increase would be 9hp too low at Modacar.

Clint, the organizer of the dyno day, will be posting results later. He's got the raw numbers imported into Excel, which he'll use to make nice graphs.

Re: Official Golden Gate G35 Dyno Day Results

that's good news...

I called ModaCar yesterday and asked if they could get the files from our dyno day. John was suppose to call me back, but never did. I'll try again on Tuesday, but nobody should be holding their breathes.
