Beshoff Project: Blown VQ35DE
Stillen quotes average install time of 12-hours. That seems reasonable, but we spent a bit more than that to make custom component mounts and routing hoses to try to keep the install stock looking.
A couple of factors- Clean install- FX has enough stock hood space to allow for the roots type charger and this kit is designed specifically for this vehicle, every part required for install was included; Linear torque curve- the peak power tuning potential of a centrifugal type charger was not as important a consideration for the owner as the more immediate low RPM response of an intercooled twin rotor type charger. The system will run moderate boost (6lbs) for reliablity, yet brings sizable power increase (+ 110 hp) and maintains daily driver manners (remember this is a FX not a G Coupe).

Hi V
This is a customer's car.
The piggy back control unit for engine management gets installed under the glove box. The wiring is a little tricky and maybe the least "bolt on" aspect of the kit (sorry, no picture of this). Next we move to the exhaust:
The ugly and stock exhaust has to go

To be replaced with a true dual exhaust with crossover x-pipe

The all important CARB decal showing the engine is still 50-state legal.

And we're sad to say, the project is finished. It was a lot of fun and we would love to keep going with more mods. But we'll stop for now...

The exhaust is by Stillen. We had to modify it to clear the accessory tow hitch Rob had installed earlier. No dyno runs planned at this time, but we will have a video with sound soon. The sound is fantastic!

The black billet grill almost disappears in front of the natural aluminum intercooler. We may want to paint the intercooler black, its a thought...Yes, lowering is a good idea specially with the added acceleration. Don't be surprised if you see a part II to this project

Great job build and this thread. The car came out real nice. I like how the Stillen SC seem like it might have came from the factory in that engine bay.
Did you guys have to tune the stillen ECU at all or did you guys use it as is?
Any future plans for having a dyno machine available at Beshof?

This was a Stillen Stage 2 kit
Thank you for the compliment! The ECU is preset from Stillen for a stock FX35 engine using cat-back system .
Very possible...stay tuned.

What's next for you guys in terms of big performance jobs? Are you guys going to step it up a notch and do something a little more radical?
