If your goal is to be in good to great fitness, I'm a big believer in Crossfit. Usually short but intense workout and tons of variation so you're not doing the same thing every week. Yeah, it's a little intimidating at first but if you go to the right Crossfit "box" (as they like to call them), they'll have some great coaches to help you at whatever level you're on. One World in Union City is a great one to go to. Great group of coaches and people there. www.crossfitoneworld.com

And somebody mentioned Warrior Dash? That looks pretty cool! I just heard about the Tough Mudder (www.toughmudder.com) and maybe they stole the idea from Warrior Dash? I might be doing the Tough Mudder in October so that I have a goal to strive towards.

And if you have bad knees as in they've been injured, then you may want to get them checked out but if they're just always sore (joint soreness and/or stiffness), you should try taking fish oil. Take it consistently for at least a month and see if it improves. A lot of people I know that have had those type of pains/soreness/stiffness have tried it and it's worked.

I had my first crossfit workout yesterday, it was awesome. My trainer left the gym we were at and went to work with his best friend and Crossfit Grover beach, he just opened Monday. My first ever box squat was 115 lbs. I was very proud of myself. He said he thought I could do more but we had done quite a few with 65 lbs. to learn form, so next time.

It's really cool because it's only 2 blocks from Pismo Beach, so we can easily do some of the conditioning on the beach for the extra little sand resistance. I'm excited to get more into it, it's going to take a couple weeks to get a real schedule as one of my dogs had ACL replacement and my schedule is goofy taking care of her.

The fish oil is a necessity for everyone. I've actually given it to my dogs daily since they were 12 weeks old. A specialist told me "you take two, give them two" Helps other things like circulation and immunity too.

Mtb/meet sounds like fun if there's enough intereted. Maybe at Marin Headlands, or China Camp, or Skegg's Point on the peninsula, or wherever. I'm into a little road biking too. Are there anybody else into cycling ?(at any level, weekend warrior to mileage junkie)
