IMA dork, it was 2 years ago that I had to smog, where did the time go? I lost one year!

 

That's a new one to me.

Those of you with out of state plates will eventually get caught. There is a huge push right now for catching foreign registration. Citizens are watching. As officers, we are too. That's how the CHP is funded, through the Motor Vehicle account. When I worked the road, I filled out a little form we have for foreign reg 5-10 times a day for out of state plate cars I saw. Enough of those cards that get entered into the system on the same car, it's easy to prove your not living out of state. One guy I worked with covered his salary by getting people to register in CA.
