Help Needed!

Hi everyone,

I need your guidance on what are my options. I had a flat tire about three weeks or so ago, and had to drive home for about 3 miles with a busted tire as it was too late to wait for a tow, and had a flight to catch that same night. My tire was literally ripped in half. When I came back, i realized that my shop had lost my wheel key so I cant take off the wheel lock/nut. I was hoping that my shop would be able to help resolve the issue, but I havent had any luck trying to get a response yet.

So, what are my options? Car doesnt have a tow hook, and is dropped about 2" do you think I will have problems trying to get it up on a flat bed with the tire being in the condition it is in? If you can come by my house and help me take off the lock, I'd be happy to pay you a small fee, or buy you beer/liquor to get this resolved asap. I live in Union City. I have been busy due to leaving my old job, and moving to the city packing/unpacking and and need to get this issue resolved at the earliest.

What brand are your lugs & Locks?

EDIT: I would try and find somebody with similar lug nuts & locks and see if you can find somebody with a key that fits.

Sucks man, when I totaled my car they were able to get it on a flatbed without scraping and damaging the car. One of my wheel was not operable and wouldn't even rotate due to the damage. I know some shops can use an air gun with a certain socket that can get the lug out but with damage to it

it looks like a standard muteki closed-ended lug. find someone with the same type of lugs - odds are their 'key' will fit. if i was closer i'd let you try mine.

or use the ghetto way. find a deep socket just a tad larger than the lock and pound it in, you should be able to unscrew it using a ratchet. works every time!
