Blinking Air bag light comes out of nowhere!

My airbag light is blinking nonstop. The seat belt light on the right side of the dash is ok. Has anyone had this and know a fix?

as far as I know airbags are under lifetime warranty with most car manufactures.
If it's a defect with sensors or other equipment, they should replace it at no cost to you. If it's let's say cracked wiring or tear and wear issues, you will be responsible.

Ok thanks. Taking it to dealer and gonna see. This is some weird stuff. Man this sucks. I love this car for the wat it looks but it has given me the most trouble of all the cars I have ever driven. Things seem to creep up every 2-3 months. Our 7 Toyotas never acted up, maybe it's coincidence or luck.

Dealer says warranty is only 6 yr. 70K only. WTF is that true? Says airbag inspection and diagnostic is about $150 and maybe $600 to fix. Damn.

that's fvcked up.

I'd fight with them on that. Try contacting Infiniti costumer relations. You can sue their pants off if airbags malfunction during the accident.

I recently took my in-laws 03 honda crv with air bag light. Dealer informed me that they need to do inspection and if it turns out that it's defected equipment they change everything at no charge to me, but if it turns out to be something else I would be liable for inspection fee ($68)
So after they determined it's faulty equipment, everything was changes under warranty. And that's a 2003 car with 168k miles on it.

I think you just have to be persistent and firm with them. Airbags exceed power-train warranty.

They told me if it ends up being a faulty module and have them fix it, it would be 500-600 or if I didn't want to fix it then 150 for them taking a look at it. Hopefully because they just installed it 2 months ago and light is back on they take responsibility for it. I have an appointment Tuesday so I'll let you guys know how it going.

Yeah, I'd like to see how that goes too. One guy at this dealership says effectively to deal with it, no coverage, no recall listed. Another guy says he will contact Infiniti and work something out with them. 2 answers, same dealer. I've found the Infiniti contact info. I'm ready to take it to them. This is ridiculous.

on a related note the first time my airbag harness recall was done the part they used was either faulty or the wrong component used and my light came on down the line, they corrected the issue on the second visit. For what its worth I was also told prior to bringing it in that the airbag was part of the powertrain warranty. :\

My airbag light just started to blink today. I had the recall done in 2010 or 11, forgot which year and lazy to check the receipt.
If airbag is part of power train warranty, then it is messed up. Let me check the warranty booklet.

And keep us posted on your finding from the dealer.

The recall started May 2010. I got mine around Sept. I took pictures and recorded the repair with my camera. The guy snipped the old connector, put in a new connector and then glued the wires just in case. Less than 2 minutes. Put seats back and done. This dealer says they'll look at my airbag light again but says no guarantee.

On a separate note, I discovered a TRICK on 6MT/G37 Driver (I think that's the link) where a guy put the key in the on position 5-6 times for 5 seconds between each turn, and his light disappeared. When I did this, the blinking slowed a lot but still there.
