Rear Main Seal
Hello all,
I was doing a clutch job on this '03 G35 Sedan, 6MT (of course) - and it looks like the rear main seal is leaking:

FMS says to remove the upper oil pan, but I know others have done it without pulling the upper oil pan. Can anyone chime in on this or come give me a hand with this seal?

The leak may appear minor, but there are drops at the bottom of the engine housing and the bell housing is full of oil grime. The clutch disc was also contaminated and smelled burnt.

saw those posts earlier, I guess I was trying to find something a little more reassuring. However, on a positive note, I had some other folks look at the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate and all confirmed they were not contaminated with oil, just burnt. I will investigate further to see maybe the valve cover gaskets are leaking near the back of the block.
