Just because you can doesn't mean you should!
I use AMSOIL too with WIX filters and wouldn't consider going more than 5K miles between changes. I have my AMSOIL delivered to my buds shop and he charges me $50 for 5 quarts and changes it too. Does that seem like a reasonable price?

So it sounds like you think 10k is already too much? I definitely wasn't going to go the whole year, but I think it's just about right? Oh well, it's time it came out anyway.
That does sound reasonable, but your bud is not my bud, I could only wish I could get a deal like that!

I certainly would not recommend driving more than 10k on any oil without performing an oil analysis first - please make sure to sample your oil before driving further on it. The VQ has a relatively small oil capacity and is a high revving motor - pretty much any oil will take a beating, even the Signature Series line from Amsoil.

It really comes down to which Amsoil product you are using. If you use their standard 5w30 oil, that is comparable with Mobil1, then the deal is just normal. The signature series oils are very expensive and pretty much out perform most other lubricants on the market, but only given the right circumstances (ie, it's not for everyone).

. Luckily, 95% of my driving is freeway with the cruise control on.
No, I using Amsoil Signature Series 10W/30 synthetic with WIX #51356 oil filter. Living in SoCal my coupe always sleeps in her garage, 10W/30 works better than 5W/30 for me....Gary
