my tennis tournament is this sat..if I beat my competitors on sat and sunday..I will not be able to make it..

Anyways, for short, I will not know until Sat Night..

 

Just a heads up for some of you. You may be disappointed with the results compared to the previous dyno day. I went and re-dyno'd now that I have added pulley, y-pipe, and 3/8" plenum spacer, and the engines fully broken in with 16000+ miles (plus a switch to fully syth oil). Here's a quick comparison:

220.25 hp
214.26 tq
88.62 degrees F
35% humidity
SAE: 1.01


Today's Results:
220.64 hp
205.79 tq
75.27 degrees F
45% humidity
1.00 SAE

Surprisingly, I had a decent amount of increased torque below 3300 rpms, then it dropped down about 10 lb ft until 6200 rpms where it evens out back to the previous run. Casey tended to believe it was because of the heat, but the temperature was 13 degrees lower today. They are running a new software version, I'm told, so maybe that had an effect on it. I was expecting a little something more, especially since the plenum spacer really seems to kick up the power after 4500 rpms when driving it.

Weird...

Good luck with the dyno day! I may still stop by for a while, since my plans fell through for that weekend.

Yep. Modacar both times. Same dyno. Same operator. Different days.

There was a Dodge SRT-10 pickup that dyno'd right after me. 415hp/435 tq! Talk about a vehicle that suffers from heat soak. Before they gave it a 5 minute cool down, it was at 405/415. Those things run pig rich too. On one run it dropped below 10:1. Most runs were around 11:1 after about 3500 rpm. Time for some ECU mods!

I have a theory about low dyno numbers. I noticed that with spacer addition rpms don't climb as fast. I blame obstruction between y-pipe and exhaust. Since Dynojet is innertia based, slower rpm increase could mean lower numbers.
After I'm done with my cusom mid-pipe, I'll redyno to confirm my theory.

I am creating an Excel spreadsheet to record all the data for Dyno Day. I will be PM'ing people for information to fill in the appropriate columns. What I will need though is a laptop as mine has finally given up the ghost. Can someone bring a laptop to the Dyno Day so I can input the dyno data on the spot??? I can bring the spreadsheet on 3.5 floppy or CD ROM.

3.5" floppy drive or CD ROM writer

I have a USB external mouse I can bring if you have a USB port.
