Need a lawyer in North San Mateo County

Hey All,
I got a speeding ticket doing 80mph on 101 by SFO. I don't want my insurance affected; so can someone recommend a good/cheap lawyer who can get the ticket reduced to just $s with no points?

Thanks

YOU GOT A TICKET FOR 80 ON THE 101???? aptly named for the average speed that the people travel. Were you on the south side of the airport? Isn't that a 70 zone? This is what we get when the police officers are jealous of the ride. Man good luck with this one.

It was ~3 am and I was hella tired. Drove from Foster City to Daly City. Cop says he was following me from Burlingame on 101. I only noticed him when I got onto 280 from 380. He thought I was DUI, which I clearly wasn't. Wierd part was that he was a Daly City cop, not Highway Patrol.

Funny thing he said "You punched it to 80 mph"

I almost busted out laughing. I am sitting there thinking does he realize that I am driving a 298 hp car. I never down-shifted, keeping it in 6th gear the whole time. If I actually "punched" it, I would have been going 100+ mph.

Fyi, for 95% of the 15 mile trip, I was driving between 60 - 70 mph because it had rained 3 hours earlier.

Or maybe he was doing 80mph in a 65mph zone.

I got busted on my bike (clocked 95 but ticket labeled as 75+) on 280N in San Mateo (Central District Court) (I had taken traffic school a year before for speeding in the G. That made me ineligible for traffic school.) I did protest my ticket by mail for the bike and after all my statements I also included that if the court does not rule in my favor that I ask for a fine reduction and assignment to traffic school. Last week I received the courts decision.........guilty... ...but with traffic school as an option ...sent in the traffic school admin fee and jumped online to toolazyfortrafficschool.com (costis $19), used the back button a bunch and about an hour later.....traffic school completed, no point! I would'nt worry much about the fine itself.....it's the damn insurance rate that will get you.

Exactly. He broke the law and he admitted it, and now he is going to deal with it by using a lawyer. That's cool, and I hope it all works out. But you didn't have to go assuming the cop was jealous. Yeah we drive 298HP cars, but that doesn't give us the right to speed. The guy was just doing his job...
