best alignment shop near san jose?

hey guys, i go to school in LA but it looks like i am home for the summer. i recently had S03s put on my rears by wheel works. i suspect they did a crappy alignment job because my vdc tends to kick in REALLY easily.

i was wondering if any of you know of a good place that does excelent alignment jobs around san jose. i live in cupertino, but i dont mind driving out to get the best. thanks!

Alan

Auto Innovations charged $80 for a four wheel alignment.

Has anyone used Advanced Auto Repair Center (912 W. Evelyn Ave, Sunnyvale)?
http://www.advanced-automotive.com/ (not working when I just tried it)

The guy at America's Tires recommended them, and said an alignment would be about $80.

I wouldn't trust anything America's Tire says. They're shady.

I've used Pacific tires in Milpitas, they're busy but pretty fair (in my experiences)

I just called Custom Alignment and asked about 4-wheel alignment for both my Honda & G35. They said it is $100 per axle! Even the Infiniti dealership is $135 (4-wheel, I think)

I also called Advanced Auto Repair and they said it is $85 for a 4-wheel alignment, but $10 off (=$75) because I was referred by America's Tire.

Why the big difference in price? Is it the equipment they use? What should I ask them?

Custom Alignment is the best alignment shop in the Bay Area, period. They know what they're doing and won't put a scratch on your car. I have had them align all of my performance cars over the past 7 years I've been going there. '93 Mustang Coupe w/ 450rwhp, '97 Mustang Cobra daily driver, '96 Viper GTS, and my current toy a '94 Mustang Cobra with 300rwhp.

They specialize in open track cars, but can align anything. I just got my G, so I don't even know the alignment specs, but if you aren't doing anything special you should be able to take it to any competent alignment shop.

However, Custom Alignment is the best in the biz. Drop by their shop and you'll see why.

Good Luck,

SeanL

Custom Alignment may be great for cars that are lowered or have aftermarket suspension, but I'm not willing to pay $200 for my Honda to get aligned vs. $70 at Advanced Auto. I just got new tires for my Accord (Yokohama H4s) and got it aligned at Advanced Auto. They kept in contact with me during the alignment and when my right rear camber was just out of spec, they asked if I wanted to get it fixed for another $30 using camber shims or something. I said OK & they didn't even charge me.

My G needs an alignment check so I will probably go to them again. They are close to my work, inexpensive, friendly, and seem to do the job right.

I would have gone to Auto Innovations (based on rec's in this thread) but they are far away from my home/work.
