Question New G35 Coupe owner in East Bay!

I just picked up an '05 G35 Coupe from Pleasanton Infiniti on Friday, 9/30. It's loaded 5A with NAV and sport package. Cool car.

I have two initial questions, where to get tint and clear mask bra. I read on this forum that Omega Tint Werks in Pleasanton does a nice job. Approx. how much should I expect to pay (ballpark is fine) to get the sides and rear tinted?

Also, does any here have a clear mask bra? I am assuming it's made from the 3m film? What's the scoop? Worth it?

Thanks,
Sean L.

I"m getting my clear bra installed tomorrow am in Pleasanton. Place called Omega tint works. You're welcome to come by and check it out. In my opinion the clear bra is highly worth it. Especially if years down the line you won't your car looking as new as it can and also avoid all the rock chips that can happen to the front.

In the Bay Area, you can't go wrong with Premier Mobile. Email Sam (user name "Wil") at sam@premiermobilegroup.com. Do a search on the forum, they get nothing but raved reviews with us G crowds. From all the clear bras I've seen (at the Bay Area meets), they do the best work, especially when it comes to custom clear bras. Really do your homework though, because not all installers are equal.

And for your second question, the answer is yes. The clear bra is definitely work it, especially since paint technology today is so weak.

Thanks for the reply. Can't make it tomorrow, but I have Omega's # and will call them to get the window tint appt set up ASAP. I need to do some more research on the clear bra, but it sounds very interesting. I've seen the 3M clear on several higher end cars at the track, seems to work for them. I guess the technology is evolving...

Look forward to checking out your clear bra soon.

Regards,
Sean

Here's another plug for clear bra from Premier. I had it done several months ago and people are still amazed when I tell them I have a clear bra on the car. Great service and incredible work.

I got my clearbra installed by Mariano at ClearTec. He is mobile, so he will come to your house or work and do it. His phone # is 408-476-3332. I saw samples of the different films on his car and thought that Llumar had the best optical properties. It did not have as much orange peel and distortion as the others.

Thanks guys. Will anyone tell me approx. what the clear bra costs? How about window tint? I moved here from Florida 3 years ago and had my cars tinted there, it costs around $150 / car.

Go with Premier. Sam (Wil) came and redid my clear bra after several other installers failed to produce an installation that was acceptable to me. These other installers were supposed to be reputable (and will remain nameless), but what I'm trying to get at is that Premier's work is in a class of their own.

Sean, it should depend if you get it custom done or pre cut kits. It could range anywhere from 500 - 800 for the G35. And remember that you get what you pay for. Hope you find what you need.

No way! I paid $350 for seven windows on the sedan and people thought I paid too much. DO NOT pay that much for tint.
