Tires Selection (HELP)

Hi all,
I am looking for my new set of tires; these are my choice:
Yokohama AVS ES 100 OR Avon Tech M550 A/S. I was wondering if someone have these tires on them or in the past? I' d like some comments before ordering. thanks so much

Have you read the reviews at www.tirerack.com ?

I hear many good things about the Avon A/S tires you mentioned though so they should be a safe purchase.

I just had some KDW/2's put on the rear on mine. I can tell you that they stick really well to the road and I'm happy with them. No more paying $600 to $700 a pair for Pilot Sports for me anymore. Do your reasearch on tirerack.com like chenga said, lots of info there.

I love my KDW's. Stick better than anything I have ever tried (including Kumho MX, Continental ContiSport's, Michelin PS2). I have yet to try the Toyo T1-R, but they will be my next tires when my new wheels come in.

Even at 1/2 the price, the KDW2's stick better than th Pilot Sports....their only drawback is that they are a little louder.......but..$40 of eDead (dynamat like stuff) in the trunk makes it really quiet.

Hmm...that may quiet my exhaust down- how heavy is this stuff, and how long would it take to install?

hi all,
My head is a bit dizzy after the end of day. I am not sure because of my work projects or just hunting for a good tires without make a big den of my pocket. I am not familiar with KDW. I think I will order the Avon in the next few weeks, will see if these user comments were correct. Thanks all. :-)

Boris, If I remember right..It was about 20 pounds or so for 80 sq ft.
it's not to hard to put in , it just takes a while since you have to take out everything in the trunk or wherever you are applying it to. I actually have some more left and was planning to do my doors also. If you guys want to setup a group install again and get the material (matting, roller, maybe a heat gun to make things easier too)....I'll help out. I can give you guys a coupon code for 20% off eDead also, but check them out on ebay first.

Sac2904, did you read up on the KDW2's compared to the others on tirerack yet? Well, here's the comparison below......

((((((Gizsf))))) Thanks for your information bud. I think I would go with AVon this time. I have Michelin Sport twice already and it wore out fast. I would take a ride to Golden Gate Bridge this weekend as part of my get away from Sacramento. I really do appreciate all of you feedback. If someone happend to see a twilight blue 04 coupe with a driver is about jumping over the bridge, that would be me so "ahola"! LOL
