So as many of you may or may not know, I am moving up to the South Bay to pursue a new job oppurtunity with Apple. I'm looking at apartments and I think I've found the place, but don't want to fly up for 1 hour to check the area out and fly back.

So here's the deal...

I was wondering if someone could go by the condo. complex and check out the area. I want to know about saftey, quality of neighborhood, quality of the building complex, how close groceries are, just general information about the area. Can you walk to Santana Row, or does the area have bums on each corner....Basically would you live there.

What you get as payment...

When I move up, we will go out for some drinks, and a couple rounds will be on me. Beer or shots. Pictures of the area will get you more drinks (you must be 21, I don't want to aid in the deliquency of a minor)

I don't want anyone to go out of their way to check the place out. If it's near your house, or work, etc then check it out (it's near Santana Row). Here is the address:

Right off top of my head? I know there is Starbuck right on the corner I think, not much going as far as gerocery goes, sure you can walk to Santa row during the day time but not sure if you would want to after dark.

 

You can call it whatever you want, just make sure your hands are warm.

 

I'm probably going to santana row this weekend and could take pics for you.

Only thing that sucks about the place is that it's right on Winchester. Kinda ghetto too imo...

It's right next to everything, there is a Safeway (Von's) in close driving distance, a japanese supermarket (Mitsua) right down the street, Santana Row, Valley Fair right down Winchester, lots of movie theaters in the area, lots of gas stations, a Starbucks... what else do you want to know about the spot? I live right down the street from there (kinda)...

 

Only if you can get me a job at Apple too!

 

Is it bad after dark? I would want to go to clubs or bars in Santana Row, would I need to take a cab back home?

so what do you mean by ghetto? Compton ghetto, or my neighbor just bought a BMW without navigation ghetto? Is it a place you would live?

Well I know they are hiring, I start may 1st, send me your resume after that, and I'll see what I can do. Not sure how much weight I'll have having been there only 1 day It took me about 2 months to get my foot in the door.

Nowhere in San Jose is truly ghetto... but it's not the second ghetto either...

 

my uncles lives right across from santana row, right next the the century theaters. I don't the that area is that bad. from where you will be staying, it might be about a 15 min. walk to santana row.

 

if you live in santana row, you'll be living next to rich people. but outside of that, are mostly condos, apts and old houses. one side of winchester is ghetto.. has all the ghetto car shops or what not.. ther other side is a little better with more restaurants and theaters. It's a very busy street to live on though.
