We should be arriving at Monterey by 1:15pm and then we will have lunch at around 1:30pm, we should finish it by 2:45pm, so you "should" able to make the drive back at 3 pm, of course you dont have to join rest of us for lunch but it might be good idea just to walk around and relax a bit before make the drive back...and that was one of the reason we move the start time an hour early so ppl still can do their own things afterward.

It would be great if you could join us. At some 70 miles into the run we will be taking a short break at the Capitola Mall. We should be at the Capitola Mall at approximately 12:30pm, at the latest. You can decide at that point whether you would like to continue driving to Monterey and have lunch with everyone. Check out the route details in the very 1st post. That will afford you an idea of what is going on and how you might plan your day.

 

just thought i'd throw this out there . . . the place i got my car dyno'd at here in sac . . . they do clubs so we'd rent the whole day and they dyno ~15 cars . . . usually $125/ car . . . but at that price it'd be like $50/ car . . . let me know if anyone's interested . . . i'll put it all on video and send 'em out!! . . . again just throwing it out there . . .

 

I'd be down for that, especially if it can be a Saturday. What shop is it and what other services do they offer? Do they know the ins and outs of the G?

 

hopefully i can make it to this meet, havent really gotten to post that much on here and i usually work on saturdays at honda... but imma take the day off and hang out with all you guys..

dyno place is called SVS RnD . . . its Sacramento Volvo Service Research and Development . . . they custom build american big blocks . . . the V8s . . . and they tune as well . . . i'm pretty sure they dont know much about the Gs . . . thats just what they offered me and my cousins when we went there . . . rent the dyno for $700/ day . . . they'll run like 15 cars . . . so $46.67/ car . . . instead of their normal $125/ car . . . their dyno is considered to be on the conservative side so its not going to give you a super high number but it'll give you a solid one . . . they had a magnum club there last friday and rented the dyno for a day and a half . . .

apparently they pool their money together, buy a whole bunch of parts and run tests and post the results on their forums . . . which is great!! . . . answers a lot of questions for their forum members . . .

if there's enough interest i'll see when they'd be free . . . it would be a weekend . . .

 

I know you just try to pass along some info and help other members, this is just a thoguht, maybe you should start a thread regarding to the dyno, post what kind of dyno, location, date/time and sign up list, so you can better judge the interest...We just had a Dyno day in East Bay on May 6th, there were couple of members from Sac area was interested but think its just bit far for them...Speaking of Volvo? they are having a huge meet in Davis, imagine all the station wagon doing burn outs

Hey, folks . . . Just got back from the Monterey Area. It's going to be absolutely gorgeous in another months time. I have invited a few friends to join in on the run. So, feel free to do the same. G, Z, or otherwise . . . Everyone is welcome to participate in this run.

 

Maybe we should un-sticky this thread and move the stuff over to the other one. That way we don't have people posting twice. Unless you want to post-***** in which case...let's make a couple more
