andy i totally agree. i just pointed that out as a reason why the shop sucks. they should treat all of their customers equally, not based on the money they spent, b/c you never know when a small spender may turn into your biggest customer.

Unfortunately you will never find that perfect shop. They are all in it for making money, some will be nice when doing it and others will try and be nice till something like what happened to David occurs
I have spent the same amounts of money with both the shops in the bay area and have been treated good by both but I have heard stories from both also which would make them look bad, again it is always going to happen so you just have to be cautios and know what your rights are when it does.
I talked to David the day before he posted and explained that he has rights and should let the insurance deal with this once he notifies them of the issues which have arisen.

thnx for all the responses on this topic, i agree with shane and andy alot, i mean they done vinh up right, due to him dumping alot of money , but when you think about it, greed always kicks in , and of course " enough money and anyone will do a right job" but that doesnt mean that someone that needs help and doesnt dump that much more money shouldnt get the same quality of service right? sad how they go around and take full advantage over the situation and try to get more than someone can afford

doesnt prove nothing to me that a shop can be that dishonest, doesnt matter if the shop owner or any workers knew everything about the car inside and out, doesnt make them that much better than anyone , and sure hell doesnt gives them the right to rip someone off , not many of us earn alot of money and we do what we can, but it aggravates me to see shops be this horrible

you guys can go to that shop, i had some big idea, hopes, and what not planned for the car if that shop was good to me, but i know the outcome now and will never spend a penny there ever again

Man, that sucks. I hope you get it all sorted out.

Everyone does have different experiences with different shops. The problem is when shops know that they screwed up and hope that the customer will not notice or they don't take responsibilty for the problems or damages because they do not want to be liable. It's a very bad business practice since my theory is that even if a happy customer may only tell a couple of friends about their great experience, an upset customer will tell everyone he/she talks to when the subject may arise. Bad advertisement.

As a shop owner myself, I can only hope they have tried to fix their mistakes, because a small amount of bad news is a lifetime of bad advertisement. I always tell my friends, life is about relationships, so as an owner I make it my point to personally inspect every vehicle to my satisfaction, and my expectations for quality are a bit ****, but needed in this business. On the flip side, one can only imagine how many customers have tried to take advantage of the business they go to. Even us good B&M's are constantly struggling to stay in business with the crappy ones because customers keep going to them. Just my two cents!

i agree with what you say, some people do take advantage over a shop...........but the majority is the shop having much more knowledge then the average joe, no one is going to tell the shop whats wrong with a car they particular barely know ,its the shops job to be honest and if can help out more but for me it wasnt anything but mistakes and problems

man i wish i found out about your shop sooner haha maybe i would of been much happier with the work

Good point. I agree when it comes to service, honesty is everything. I think our biggest issue is really with pricing. If we could only get paid for answering as many questions as we do. Consumers are tough. Nothing worse than doing a lot of homework for a customer only to have them tell you they found some shop in FL that is willing to give them a better price of 5%. Some car guys need to realize it isn't always about saving money, but building a relationship with a business can save you a lot more money down the road.
Sorry, needed to vent!
Support local business!!!
