This is exactly why you don't go to a tuning shop to get paint/bodywork done.

Every time I have brought my own car in (or assisted a friend) in getting any work performed, I inspect it thoroughly on the spot and do not pay until I feel that the work was performed properly and flawlessly. You are paying for a service, don't let others take advantage of your money... I would certainly alert your insurance company, but I'm sure they won't be too willing to help because the shop you chose was not one of their "preferred shops."

Good luck!

Sorry to hear that David, for all those who do not know the shop....it begins with "S" and ends in "Peformance ", and are located off Lafayette, thats all I can say.

Plus the shop does not do the painting itself they send it out.

Ya it was the shop they sent it out to , they did the crappy job in the painting, but it was the car being put back together but that shop,in which I keep finding more flaws with, I mean they didn't paint it but they were the ones who "fixed" it supposely, and yet they done such a crappy job over all

And paul, let me see those rims!!!!! =D

David,

Damn, sorry to read about your terrible experience. Hopefully, your insurance company can assist and help you resolve this matter. Shoot . . . And I was thinking about going down to see Ted for a UniChip discussion/discovery. I think that I will hold off on that for the time being. In any event, David . . . I really hope things clear up for you very soon.

i think each of us have different experiences with every shop.

so since i have had a good experience with Ted and the folks at Scott Performance, i thought i'd share.

he's helped fix several problems that came up with my car in a very timely manner. helped get my exhaust modified to fit my needs and overall did a good job with the install and tuning of my single turbo.

edit: one case in point...my car stopped running one day because of a faulty solenoid. the car was pulled over on the 101 fwy by great america. knowing Ted was right down the street, i called him and he sent his mechanics out to troubleshoot the car. after about 30 minutes and figuring that fuel was not being delivered to the engine, Ted called out a tow company to have the car towed to the shop, at his own expense. what more can you ask for? sure...I wish the solenoid didn't go bad, but **** happens and how a shop responds after they sell you a product really tells you if you are dealing with a reputable shop or not.

i know of others who have had bad experiences and again those who have nothing but good things to say. i think this goes with any shop you go to.

well, just want to make sure the other half of the story is told.

and i hope you've tried getting whatever issues you have fixed directly with the folks at that shop.

best of luck

Vinh,

I don't think anyone is questioning Scott's as a tuner shop. They have a good reputation around here. But maybe people should consider a shop known for paint and body work (not engine work) when they need their car painted.

Well, crapy paint job is only half the story, I will let David tell his side of the story, thats if he so inclines to, but I whole heartly believe David was been taken advantaged.

Vinh, its great that you are/were been well taken care of by Ted, but if you had know what happened to David? you might think differently.

Man, that sucks. You are right, Giri. However, I don't give a rat's A$$ how much monies David had spent. A $100.00 scope of work deserves the same detail and care as a $10,000.00 scope of work. The dollar amounts are definitely not within ratio, but I think everyone gets the idea.
