When in doubt, it is always best to take it to a qualified professional. Springs are fairly simple to install with the correct tools, but you also must make sure that the spring is properly seated, and the mounting points/control arms are in a 'normal state' when you torque everything back down.
Always get an alignment after lowering your car, be it with adjustable height coilovers, or springs.

i've been doing a little more research, and now i am finding that some people aren't recommending the stiffer "revised" springs for my g35 sedan with sports suspension, so i haven't been able to make a decision. My rear tires will rub with anything more than a 1/2"drop in the back.

What size tires are you running? We just did two more sedans this week, one with the Tein CS Coilovers and another with HKS springs. PM "G35 Papa" he can tell you how much he likes it and he was going for a soft setup. He is also running Volk's. We also put him about a 3/4" drop and he is nowhere close to rubbing. A lot of it depends on the size tire obviously. Give me a little more information about your car and I will see what I can do. Thanks.
