No.

You can get one for a few bucks off if you go on ebay. Still not 'cheap'.
It is a great product. Good luck!

most people who buy a v1 will not go back to anything else. you can barely get 10% off a used v1 on ebay.

you can get a better deal on a passport x50 which is more or less just as good. V1's are hard to get deals on because they are officially only sold through valentine 1, ebay will get you a small discount but not much.

X50 performs just as well on all the tests with the exception of lidar detection which is useless anyway.

I got my X50 from CarDomain with a 105% price match on some ghetto spot I found with pricegrabber. I preferred going through an authorized reseller over ebay for virtually the same $$$.

biggest difference would be the the directional indication. i find regular detectors much less useful since having a v1. better to know where radar is coming from rather than just knowing it is around and wondering where you are being clocked. the most useful thing in my opinion.

Especially when you pass a radar sign that shows your speed, and a cop is hiding down the street. Nice to see the directional arrows point in both directions, so you know something is up.

LOL wtf difference does it make? don't you react more or less the same (slowing down) no matter where it comes from as soon as you hear the signal?

I was talking about when you accelerate away after passing the sign. If you don't have directional, you'd think after you pass the sign, you are just detecting the sign behind you, instead of the cop hiding ahead of you.

Bogey counter is awesome too. Whenever I pass the said sign, the counter always reads 1. When the cop was hiding ahead it read 2 or 3, so I knew something was different. This is especially helpful for those that don't bother slowing down for these radar signs.

Also works to differentiate from real bogeys. For example, I always pick up a bogey on this one freeway onramp. One day I noticed the bogey counter showed a higher number than normal, so I took it easy, and saw a bunch of cops a little after the onramp hiding in the bushes.
