Unhappy Need help with a ticket guys

Ok this is total bs.

So I was driving on the ave at night coming back from getting food & gas. I turn left, but I might have forgotten to signal. The streets were completely empty and I wasn't speeding or anything.

This cop pulls me over and says he has it recorded I didn't make a left turn. He then also marks me off for not having a front license plate and failture to show registration because I left my reg at home.

So the ticket is $202, but this cop was hella f*cking rude. I'm not trying to be racist, but it was complete racial profiling. Young asian guy in a nice red sports car. he was caucasian and just didn't care to listen to me at all. he just gave me the damn ticket and was like bye when I was trying to talk to him. So he gives me the ticket right? For those of you who got a ticket you know where they say on the ticket to sign it, but not admit to guilt? He never even made me sign it. He just crosses through it. Is that even legal? Does that make the ticket void? Can I argue this in court?

This is total bs and I'm going to court to contest it, but I'm not sure what to say because supposeldy he says he had a video recording of me not turn signaling.

Is there anyway I can get out of this ticket? Give me some input if you know the law.

Sorry Steve, but you are pretty much screwed because its your word against his. I got the same ticket in Corvallis on a Thursday night since the cops are just out looking for drunk drivers and will pull you over for any little thing. You can try to fight it, but without any way to prove that you did signal, he's just going to get on the stand and say he saw that you didn't signal and there's nothing you can do about that since his word is taken as true before yours. Hopefully things turn out okay for you dude, sounds like you are have'n a rough month

Wait so technically if he didn't offer to have to sign the ticket, and I didn't even sign it, the ticket still holds up?

Do what I do with my tickets, get a lawyer ;p

Seriously though, it might cost more out of pocket, but its worth it for the 99% chance of getting it off, my lawyer cost me 250 ( think he charges 300 or 350 now) but he said hes had a 99% win rate.

I didnt even need to talk to him, he just talked to the da got it thrown out and I was on my way, I dont think ill go any other route if I ever get another ticket.

mine was for doing 80 in a 70, there is almost always loopholes they can find

just my .02 though

Thing is though, if he didn't even ask me to sign the ticket, is it even valid...?

damn cops on the ave usually don't give a crap about traffic violations. They should usually be more pre-occupied about controlling the bum population out in front of Earls and Jack in the Box and cracking down on all the arsons and shootings that have been going on lately. Sorry to hear about your ticket, Steve.

Go to the courthouse in a few days and check if the Cop filed the ticket on time. If he didn't, you can get it dismissed just on those grounds.

for every ticket I received, I've been specifically asked to sign it. I think that's a legitimate cause for dismissal. All the signature indicates is that the recepient acknowledges they have received the ticket. If he "signed" it for you, that's a no no. You would take that to court. I'd provide many examples if your sign to the court to show that you never sign with just a line. If you could somehow get copies of other tickets, that officer has "signed", that would seal the deal.

The signature is there to make sure an officer isn't just making up tickets and filing them.

Steve, whether he makes you sign it or not it still doesn't matter. Signing it is just acknowledgement of seeing the piece of paper and received it. There's been times I was so pissed off I didn't sign it cause I didn't agree with it or what not. The cop told me many times sign it or not it doens't matter. I woldn't recommend contesting it yourself. I would get a lawyer. Something so trivial like that you usually get raped on it. I got rapped a while back in lynnwood for a seatbelt ticket when in reality I was wearing it. If you need Tim's number let me know. Good luck man and sorry to hear bout your luck!

Nothing is ever guaranteed man! Tim Coogan has a policy that you only pay if he wins and he charges less. I've used both and they are both skillwise similar, just that Tim has better deals!

would you rather lose and not pay or just pay and know its taken care of?

I know of probably 30-40 people who have used Mucklestone and she's never lost. IMO that speaks pretty loudly.
