Sounds about right, I was quoted $250 for a spoiler, which are rougly the same size, still takes the shop the same amount of time to do both

Yup, it's pretty expensive. I paid around 250 just for the spoiler. I have an IP car, so they needed to prep 3-coat paint.

Seriously, paint is not the place to cheap out, I learned my lesson with my spoiler. First shop, which is the best shop in beaverton quoted my $250, found a shop that quoted me $100 and assured me it would match. First time the color was totally off, and since I didn't leave a part with them to color match, they charged me an extra $50 to redo it. Then when they redid it, they didn't let the lower coat offgas correctly, and the second coat never cured, so they had to redo it again. Finally, when they redid it, they left too many imperfections in the paint. After 4 tries, it was decent enough that I had to cut my losses and take it. Color still didn't match exactly, but I didn't think they would ever get it right.

I did mine at aldercrest auto rebuild in lynnwood. They did a pretty damn good job considering that IP is extremely difficult to color match.

I paid 5 bucks for the paint and did it myself. Its not difficult since its plastic. Just sand it down, spray it with primer, spray with plastic paint, then spray with a clear coat. Took about a couple hours.
