Beaverton Infiniti

Anyone in Washington/Oregon like Beaverton Infiniti? I found them nothing shy of incompetent. I was interested in buying a FX35, went to the dealer, asking about the Event of the Season Offers, and they were vague at best; they only mentioned 2.9% was being offered, after I mentioned that's what I received on my G35 a few months ago. Further, they didn't know the features of the vehicle (hell, the salesman couldn’t unlock the rear hatch!), didn't know current offers, and their best offer on the FX was MSRP on a 2004 ... even though I told them I was interested in a 2003 - classic.

Re: Beaverton Infiniti

I wasn't overly impressed with the buying experience of my G35 there. The sales guys never seemed to have an answer without saying "Let me check on that". I knew far more about the cars than the sales guys (at least the 2 I spoke with).

Re: Beaverton Infiniti

When I got my sedan in May of '02, Beaverton wanted 3500 over MSRP. I told them that I didn't want to pay more than MSRP, and they basically said see ya later. I ended up getting my G at Kirkland for 31.5, which was MSRP.

Service has been pretty dismal also. Either they can't replicate the problem or they can't fix it when they do. All I usually get is "couldn't replicate" or "yeah we replicated it yesterday but couldn't today so we didn't work on it." I do get some nice grease stains on the seats and everywhere else though. It got so bad that I took a trip up to Kirkland for work just to avoid Beaverton.

Things have gotten a lot better since Paul Jackson took over for John Galle. They actually put a plastic cover on my seat on the last visit.

The only way I'd even consider another Infiniti is if a new dealership opens up in Salem, Vancouver, or even Eugene. I don't have the time for the trip up to Kirkland.

Sorry for the vent.

Re: Beaverton Infiniti

Rumor is that Kirkland Infiniti is expanding into Fife, which will save you an hours drive should you feel the need to come up to Washington. With the success Infiniti has been having lately, I hope this means at least another dealership opens in Washington. Competition is good.

Re: Beaverton Infiniti

yep. I think the owner(s) of the Kirkland dealership is opening one in Fife. I told Tony Talton that they should think about opening a dealership in the Vancouver/PDX area. They would make a killing based on the difference in sales and service I've received from them.

Again, I just hope that another dealership opens up within an hour and a half of the PDX area. I would drive down to Eugene if necessary, which is only 1.5 hours away going slightly higher than the speed limit. It's all pretty ironic though when Beaverton is literally 10 minutes away from my house.

Not limited to Infiniti

I think what Beaverton/Portland's problem is that there are only like 1 dealer each in Portland for Acura, Lexus, & Infiniti, so they are a bunch of cocky *****. (There are two acura dealers, but they are both the same regarding prices)

When shopping for the wife's car a while back, Lexus of Portland was the rudest of all the dealers. Actually told me to "Please get out of the vehicle (IS300), as customers may want to look at the interior"...

I almost blew up right than and there, and asked why they thought I wasn't interested in the car.

Acura of Portland (Ron Tonkin), was just as bad. I was looking under the hood of the TL and this lady came out, and closed the hood (almost on my head), and said that she has a customer that would like to look at the car. I was 26 at the time, (and don't think I look younger) so I don't know why none of those dopes took me seriously. Acura/Lexus kept acting like I was some punk kid that wanted to joyride. Lexus of Portland even had the ***** to tell me that they get a lot of kids coming in wanting to test drive cars.

To make things worse, Ron Tonkin wanted over MSRP for the TL, and said I would not be able to get the car for less. So after a few phone calls, I drove down to Eugene (1.5 hour away) and bought one for 500 over invoice. I went back to Ron Tonkin with my the new TL, to have a spoiler installed. While there, the guy remembered me, and said, "oh, did you get a slightly used TL?"

It felt good to say, "No, I bought a brand spankin' new one for 2 grand less than what you guys wanted"... But right afterwords, I felt even more pissed, that he would insinuate that I had to go out and buy a used car? I swear I will never give Ron Tonkin my business ever again. (I even drove out to Eugene to get the spoiler installed, partly because of this incident)

I will be getting a G35 pretty soon, but again, found the beaverton Infiniti to be less than informed. I knew more about the car than the salesman did. And why the heck does Beaverton Infiniti "install" the $1500.00 rust treatment on all their cars? Anyways they don't seem to want to budge from MSRP + $1000.00 (for that stupid rust proofing), so I won't be buying from them. I'm just glad my wife is open to a roadtrip to buy the G35 elsewhere . Most likely either Bay Area, LA Area, or Kirkland. Beaverton Infiniti claims that the G35s are flying off their lot, but I swear I'm seeing the same cars on there lot day in and day out. Maybe I should go in, and write the VIN down, and come back later and point this out to them

Re: Not limited to Infiniti

I'm sorry for your experiences at the local car dealerships. I've had nothing but the best treatment from Lexus of PDX with an ES, the new RX, and look forward to trading the G for the 2005 GS. I don't have any experience at either Acura dealerships and you've read about my experience at Infiniti.

I agree that competition is a great thing. There really is no incentive for a company, business, etc., to do more than the bare minimum if there is no competition to worry about.

Beaverton wanted 2K over MSRP in addition to the 1.5K for the 'Northwest Package' which I hear is a couple cans of sealant under the car. Their attitude was like 'where else you gonna go?' which is true to some degree. Like I mentioned above, I went to Kirkland who didn't BS me.

What Beaverton doesn't realize or chooses to ignore is the fact that Kirkland is given additional allotments of G's because Infiniti frowns on second stickers. I got my G from Kirkland, sent 2 buds who got their coupes from Tony, and know of several forum members who have gone up. I don't think Beaverton gets it.

Re: Not limited to Infiniti

At some point Beaverton will realize that they should have focused on long term sales instead of immediate sales. Myself, I ended up ordering from Grubbs Infiniti in Texas as I could get VPP pricing and neither Beaverton nor Kirkland would deal. Expecting delivery mid Feb. Even with the $950 shipping charge, I'm still saving quite a bit.

Re: Not limited to Infiniti

I just purchased another vehicle from Kirkland - infinitely better than Beaverton Infiniti - an FX35. Once again, they were very knowledgeable, thorough, and the price was exceptional.

Beaverton can kiss my a**. They suck on many, many levels.

You shoulda said, 'yeah, someone put 8 miles on it already before I bought it. But since all the stickers were still on it I fgured what the heck, they're giving me $2k off the price...'

Re: Not limited to Infiniti

Beaverton Infiniti sucks...Period.

I took the trip up to Krkland and bought mine as well from Tony Talton for MSRP back in August.
