Newbie

Hey guys:

I don't have a G35 yet but I hope at some point to get one.....driven quite a few and really like them.

Question is, where is the best place to buy a new one? Seems the delaers are all wanting to get top dollar for them and I don't want to go that route.

Re: Newbie

Coupe for my wife....Automatic transmission and everything except navi...

I also did some more looking around the website and found that Kirkland seems to be stiff on pricing...which is my chief complaint. I am concerned about buying out of state as every vehicle I have purchased out of state, DMV required my to pay state sales tax. I did read the post about what DOL/DMV said but I am uneasy. Anyone have experiences in doing this and what "their"deals consisted of? The last offer made to me by Kirkland was on an 04 auto coupe with everything including aftermarket wheels at 38K and roughly over $400 per month with $3000 down.
Edited by miket on 01/02/04 06:59 PM.

Re: Newbie

I bought the sedan so I can't really comment about coupe pricing. I bought from Riverside and they told me I could buy it w/o CA sales tax but when I bring it into WA and registered, I would have to pay a "use tax" which coincidentally was identical to the sales tax I would have paid if I bought in WA. So instead of paying $2.5k to WA because I didn't have that kind of cash lying around after my down payment, I just told them to charge me CA sales tax. When I brought it back, I gave the DMV my sales receipt, they told me the tax I paid to CA would be applied to my use tax, and I paid the difference which was $300.

So in the end, I pay the same amount on tax, only CA citizens get a chunk of it instead of WA but at this point I really don't care anymore. It was pretty painless and I'll probably buy my next car out of state again if I get a good deal again.

If Kirkland doesn't deal, try Riverside in CA or Grubbs in TX and tell them to give you an offer that'll make sense for you not to buy from Kirkland. I think Grubbs is doing free shipping again so that'll save you $600 off the top.

When I went to Kirkland, they told me they would not budge from MSRP on 6MT sedans, I emailed both Grubbs and Riverside and they were both willing to go $500 over invoice right off the bat. I saved around $2900 so I'm pretty happy with the process. Your deal with the aftermarket wheels seems a little more complex but I'd say try out of state.

Good luck..

Re: Newbie

I heard they are opening another Infiniti at around Fife area. Not sure when though... They might offer some deals during the grand opening. Just a thought.
