I've always liked the black spokes/polished lips look.

Thanks

Usually from what I have seen, is Powder coating is less than painting. It usually comes in at $50-$75 a wheel. That includes the sandblasting, cleaning, color, and clear. the only thing you need to watch out for when PCing is the oven temps. Anything over 300F and you can anneal the aluminum in forged wheels. This if you don't know makes them brittle and a nice bump/pot-hole can cause it to crack or shatter. Use a low temp. powder that will cure under 275F and make sure the over is set for 275F. the reason for this is the thin spots on the wheel with form hot-spots which will get warmer than the oven temp.

With powder coating they can put multiple colors on to get a polished lip look. One thing you can do is have the wheels blasted then when they are done, have the lips polished before they get coated. When they go in for coating, they can mask-off the lips for the color and then when they go to put the clear coat on, they will take off the masking to clear the whole wheel.

Painting is relatively the same process except there is typically more prep-work and their oven temps. for curing paint are a lot less than powder coating. Painting wheels can be more difficult than PCing depending on the wheel design. You can still get "over-spray" with PC, but it is not as easy as with paint. Especially on the edges of the spokes.

Hope this helps!

Check out the Contour HD, they're ridiculously cool and easy to use. 1080p, records to a micro SD card up to 32GB, you charge and download with a USB cable, its really slick. plus they're pretty much indestructible..
http://contour.com/

Its what we've been using all season to record the videos of the Intec Formula D drift car:

Retails for $280 but you know deals are to be had for the homies Go pro's old news
