there was a guy up there on a old Ford pickup and another one with a new JK (Jeep Wrangler). Ford guy could not make it up there and guy with a JK had semi bold offroad tires and he got scured.

I had straps, chains and winch with me...........I wasn't scured of nutin.

I didn't even let the air out of my tires or nothing, although I should have, ride would have been sooooooooooooooooo much smoother.

Looks like a lot of fun. We used to do quite a bit of 4x4ing in the Rockies west of my home town in something that looked quite a bit like this:

Only not nearly in such good condition, and with a winch on the front. The places it would go -- especially when chained up -- would honestly scare most folks. All four of us would squeeze into the cab; good thing we were not large people!

It was a ****** Jeep ( REAL Jeep, not like after AMC, then Chrysler got hold of it), circa 1960. It came with a 4-banger but my Dad swapped it for what was called a Super Hurricane Six, which was a straight six and, despite the name, not all THAT powerful. 226ci, tiny 1-barrel carburetor and about 105hp/190tq. The one picture below has been upgraded with an alternator and 12-volt wiring (stock would have been a 6-volt generator plus voltage regulator, mechanical points, etc.) and hi-power ignition coil.

Manual transmission, of course, and Warn hubs -- which meant that to put it in 4WD you had the get out and turn a mechanism on the outside of the hubs. Best to do that before you get in a really tight situation.
