Re: I'm Movin' Up

I haven't been told that I got an order in for May. He was good last month on letting me know what was up. Sent Tony a note to find out if I missed the cut. That'd be a bummer.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

Well I finally got around to checking out that tint shop. They put 20% all around on my IP sedan yesterday. It looks great. This is actually the same place the guy who sold my car recommended...he has had several of his cars done there. He actually bought a DP sedan a month or two after I bought mine....so I guess you can say I help buy him a DP sedan.

But anyway the place seems to do good work. There's a few small bubbles that I see but they should be gone once the tint cures...so they say. The price was $225 after taxes, not the $189 deal but hey it's only money.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

That's good to hear. Glad you're happy with the result. I know the darker the better with white and black cars. Did you hang around and watch or drop it off ?? $225, to me, is cheap for the level of appearance improvement obtained. Cool !! ...dean

Re: I'm Movin' Up

Did they tape off the interior so no solution got on the side panels and seat? The place I usually tint at is so messy and I don't want to start off on the wrong footing with this car. They spray hella water or whatever it is and it usually gets all over the place.

Let me know how this place handled that.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

I only got a chance to get a few peeks...they may have let me watch if I asked but I didn't. So I really ended up walking around checking out some of the local shops. This place was recommened by my saleman and I've seen his car...so I pretty muched trusted them to do a good job.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

Can't say that they actually taped off the interior but I think I would have noticed if they got anything wet on the inside and wiped it down....and I didn't. So I imagine they were carefull about that. I just returned from there a few minutes ago...they had the seals turned down until the tint cured and they needed to turn them back up. They actually re-tinted the passenger side rear window because of a scratch in the tint. I pointed it out to them and they redid it...no questions asked.

The tint looks great and I would recommend them to anyone who's looking to have it done.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

Dean,

Do you already have an XM subscription? I just got mine (Delphi unit), and all I can say is that it is totally awesome! $10/month is a real bargain for all this great programming.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

I'll get some pics as some as I get a chance to clean her up....the last bit of rain we had got her kind of dirty. The tint is metalic made by Llamar or something like that...one piece back glass so no lines.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

Hey mc., sorry for teh delay in responding. The PC wigged out...too much downloading of free software, I think.

Nope, don't have XM now and was shooting in the dark ordering the option with about 30 minutes of internet research backing me up on which to get. Glad to hear you're happy with XM. I'll be looking for their programming strength in electronica, classic rock and new age. With a 6 cd changer too, wonder which I'll listen to more. ...dean

Here's a pic of my sedan with 20% tint all around. I've added more pics in the rides section.

Re: I'm Movin' Up

WOW !! That looks nice !! Thanks for the preview of what dark tint looks like on IP. I'm seriously thinking of going with the Huper Optik, a ceramic product. Since it's not too prevalent, maybe I can get those guys to intall it. Only two months to go... Also, what's the concern with exposing license plate numbers ?? I see some do and some don't. ...dean
