you'll never know unless you try but based on the #'s you're quoting your baby isn't running so well...I've never seen a G35 gain less than 10whp peak with on average 15 in the curve from the tune, and more usable power means you don't have to push the pedal as hard to go where you want to go... equals using less gas. As well has correctly calibrating the A/F to burn more efficiently. If I were to do it all again an Osiris tune is the first thing I'd do to the car.

That being said its not exactly cheap, so in the meantime try replacing your spark plugs, replacing the air filter (or switching to a K&N drop in, they go for around $45 shipped on amazon.com) and switching to a good synthetic oil like Motul, amsoil, or redline. It'll help.

I have already done all the things you mentioned and more regarding improving mpg, it helped a little but nothing significant (nothing remotely close to the claimed tune gains).

hmmmm well in that case idk there's only so much you can do without flashing the ecu because the engine's programmed to run a certain way... without changing that

Do it!!! :P, if not for fuel economy, more power, better throttle response, but do it so the engine runs smoother. it will prolong the life of the motor. thus saving u money in the long run

Just got a tune and DAMN does it make a huge difference! Gained alot of power and I love the econo mode, valet, and theft mode. Alot better throttle response and now my car actually throws peoples heads back when before it kinda "wooshed" away...

Does anyone know if they stand behind the tune, meaning no gain = no payment. I would imagine they would have to show reasonable gains in order to expect $750 in return. I am just worried there could be something else wrong that they might not discover right away and then still expect payment even though nothing was actually gained from the tune. Do they know before the tune if everything is as it should be with the car?

You guys are selling me on the tune but I obviously don't want to throw away $750, plus I need to sell it to my wife.

Thanks,
Jason

You should see gains no matter what condition you car is in... like you pointed out every car is different so some cars will see massive gains and some will only see small gains. For example Andrew got his car tuned, started with about 230 whp with breather mods and exhaust and ended up with right around 240 after the tune.... now my car started completely stock at 232 whp and ended at 248 with less modifications (plenum spacer, ztube, and filter) and keep in mind the stock numbers were with a 70 degree intake temp and end numbers were with a 95+ degree intake temp so given they had time to cool would show a little more gains in the end. Anyway It will all depend on your car but no matter what you will see gains, the feel of your car will improve, and the gas mileage will increase if you keep your foot outta it. No one will see the same gains, but everyone sees their car improves quite a lot! The reason it cost what it does is because they spend time with the car in order to tune that car specifically for its own needs. Every car is different even straight from the factory so each tune will be tailored specifically for the car. Thats why if you were to purchase osiris on the internet and do it yourself you wouldn't see as good of gains because they are not tailored to your specific car.

Honestly if something were truly wrong with your car either you should notice or they would notice before the tune... im pretty sure Joe and Lawrence would never tune a car that was on its last legs or if there was something obviously wrong with it.

All the tune is doing is resetting your factory settings in order to optimize air to fuel ratios, it actually makes your car more reliable and efficient then it is now which is where the gains come from.

Wow, that was a long response... hope that helped hahaha It's been a long day so my bad

Thank you for your input das stig, I truly appreciate it.

My G runs great and has been checked out (maintained very well), the dealer claims everything is fine, I just feel a bit skeptical since it gets lower mpg than it should.

Ya of course.although the biggest improvement I found was the 24+ torque I picked up honestly nothing else you do will be better bang for your buck. I was getting 18 mixed and 22 freeway mpg now in econo mode getting roughly 21 mixed 25 freeway....although I've only been tuned for a few weeks.... Still on 1/4 a tank left and I think 300 miles on 3/4 a tank....mostly city id be happy to take ya for a spin sometime, just pm me

Hey joe, can you post up my first dyno run then my final after tune run?

By the way this may sound dumb but driving style will dramatically change your mpg, if I was driving shanks car id get around 21 freeway since I like to mob and pass people but since he likes to drive like an old asian woman he gets much better mpg.... Most people dont realize being smooth , leaving plenty of room in front of you so you dont have to slow down as much in traffic, and not driving around like a teenager who just got the keys to his dads porsche will help a ton! That will be the biggest factor in increasing mpg besides a proper tune

...doesnt your dad have a porsche austin?... LMAO

As for the dyno sheet, I thought I gave it to you? but I'll look around and worst case scenario I can always print another one off. I agree completely on the driving style, I like to coast and use the brakes as little as possible, its amazing how some people are on the gas to the very last second then on the brakes, robbing precious fuel economy

As for a "warranty" or "guarantee" for the tune, I can tell you that I have NEVER met a person who was dissatisfied with the final product on a VQ35DE (all G35 coupes, and 2003-2006 350z's). The factory tune really is that bad Nissan got a lot better with the G37's, but there's still a lot to be gained in smoothness and refinement along with some power.

Shank hit me up when you're back in town, Jeff's still got the appt till the end of the month, come over and we'll have a beer or two

Feel free to PM me any specific questions you might have ^^

Thats also another reason why we check spark plugs, oil, etc and have a good look over the car, as well as do a base run on the dyno before the actual tuning. If somethings physically wrong with the car, IE throwing check engine lights, smoking alot, or for some reason the dyno readings are way off from what they should be, its leaking fluids, etc... we're obviously not going to even try and tune it until those issues are resolved. But provided its mechanically sound you will see a drastic improvement.

Thanks Joe, that is exactly the type of information I was after.

I'm sold.
